Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo predstavili in soočili vprašanja ter razpravo na temo zavarovalniških goljufij in pristopov k reševanju aktualne problematike in prikazali delovanje zavarovalnic na področju boja proti zavarovalniškim goljufijam ter njihov interes za znižanje goljufij.

Abstract:This final thesis deals with the topic of insurance frauds and the approaches in the solution of current issues, as well as it presents the activity of insurance companies in fighting the insurance frauds and their interest in decreasing the number of frauds. We would like to present above all our personal view on this issue, and that with a hypothesis that by reinforcing services it would be possible to obtain a preventive and a more professional control over the fraud cases, and consequently decrease the percentage of damage compensations and insurance indemnities for frauds. Insurance companies have found out that lately the participants are mostly unemployed, not many of them are highly educated, children or elderly people, but these options are not excluded. It is possible to say for these groups that they move from an insurance company to an insurance company, and that they know one another very well or are even friends. In order to discover and prevent frauds in the insurance industry, the company Optilab d.o.o. has developed a programme named Admiral, which discovers where, when and which individuals or vehicles have been involved in accidents. Insurance fraud is a frequent form of criminal activity, which occurs in different schemes. Defrauders are often members of criminal fraternities, who act collectively in benefit claims and frequently cause large monetary damages to insurance companies. In the final part of this thesis we can conclude that in order to prevent insurance fraud it is necessary to reinforce and improve the cooperation with public authorities, as well as increase the cooperation between the insurance companies.
