Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Razlike v poučevanju glasbene vzgoje v prvem vzgojno-izobraževalnem obdobju (VIO) med Slovenijo in Portugalsko smo obravnavali vpliv glasbene vzgoje, vlogo učitelja v osnovnošolskem izobraževanju, predstavili izobraževalni sistem obeh držav in znotraj učnih načrtov primerjali učne cilje glasbene vzgoje v prvem VIO.

Title:THE DIFFERENCES IN TEACHING MUSIC EDUCATION IN THE FIRST CYCLE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL BETWEEN SLOVENIA AND PORTUGAL
Abstract:The diploma paper titled The Differences in Teaching Music Education in the First Cycle of Primary School between Slovenia and Portugal deals with influences of music education, the role of the teacher in primary education, presents the teaching systems of both countries and compares the teaching syllabuses of music education of both countries. The empirical part features a survey conducted in June 2011 in Portugal and in January 2012 in Slovenia on the population of one hundred teachers and focuses on whether there are differences in music education in the first cycle of primary education between the countries. The findings of the empirical part have shown that there are differences and similarities in music education in the first cycle of primary education between both countries. The differences are largely due to the level of proficiency of teachers and differences between the syllabuses of both countries, these can be found in the teachers' independence in teaching, their organisational structure and the placing of music education in the weekly timetable and experience in teaching music education; the similarities can be found in the use of teaching methods, integration of music education with other subjects, the pupils' attitude towards music education, etc. The study has shown that it would be recommended to think about suitable initial qualifications of teachers for teaching artistic subjects as well as a suitable system of continuous professional training which would enable them to further their knowledge and develop their skills.
