Leta 1944 so partizani šolo požgali.

Title:SCHOOLING DEVELOPMENT IN REČICA OB SAVINJI
Abstract:The development of schooling in Rečica ob Savinji from its beginnings to the present day is highlighted in the graduation thesis. School in Rečica ob Savinji is the oldest school in the valley Zgornja Savinjska dolina. In some sources it is mentioned in the reign of Mother Teresa. At the time it was “one-class” school for writing, reading, calculating, and religious education. First lessons took place in several houses in the market town Rečica. Just before the Second World War the school in Rečica was eight-year school. Under German occupation Slovene teachers were replaced by German teachers. Therefore, lessons were in German language. In 1944 the school was burnt down by Partisans. At that time the school chronicle was burnt. Hence, only a few sources about the schooling in Rečica ob Savinji until the end of the Second World War are available. Some recordings are available in Slovenian School Museum in Ljubljana. After the Second World War an appropriate place for school was to be found. At the time the renovation of the burnt-down school began. Its opening took place on 9 November in 1952. In 1959 the school in Rečica became eight-year school. Due to the lack of renovation of the school in the following years, the building was slowly falling into ruins. In 1969 the general meeting of the municipality adopted a resolution about reorganization of the schooling in the area of Mozirje, Nazarje, and Rečica. In the autumn of 1970, pupils from fifth to eight classes were included in the central primary school in Mozirje. Until the year 2000, the school in Rečica was a branch school of the primary school in Mozirje. In 2000 Rečica got a new eight-year school. In 2003 the school in Rečica was included in the nine-year school programme. From a simple “one-class” school in 1777 to a nine-year school the schooling in Rečica ob Savinji made a giant step. However, the citizens have never reconciled with a period in which Rečica only had school for the first four classes.
