Abstract:Živimo v svetu v katerem informacijska tehnologija iz dneva v dan postaja razvitejša.

Abstract:We live in a world where information technology is advancing at a rapid pace. The development of information technology goes hand in hand with the invention of new methods of hacking into IT systems. Today, everybody depends on devices and their smooth functioning. In order to provide the undisturbed operation of devices and systems, we must ensure their safety and protect them both directly and indirectly. Any system should be studied thoroughly with the purpose of recognising its vulnerability and securing it from threats. IT systems are extremely vulnerable, particularly to hardware overheating or data stealing. A new form of terrorism, called cyber terrorism, also poses a threat to information systems. Among the most vulnerable are information and communication systems, electricity network, banking systems, transport and water supply systems. If only one of them is threatened, for example air transport, this may result in panic and, consequently, distrust of people in the government. Our world is a web of information which is accessible everywhere. All information is clustered into systems which should be monitored with great attention to be protected from possible threats. Each system is as safe as its weakest link. It is necessary to act preventively; poorly protected companies jeopardize national security as well as the security of global society.
