Abstract:The police is the national authority that has an important function in ensuring and maintaining peace and security in the country. However, for implementation of this important function, it needs special powers. The police is one of the most numerous and best equipped government agencies, which may also use force against an individual. It is, therefore, very important to study deviant behavior because the situations in which police officers intervene may lead to an overrun of their powers. Deviant behavior is identified by aggression, brutality, violence, mobbing, etc. The cause of formation of deviant behavior can be various factors, such as stress, prejudice, police cynicism, social undermining. Such behavior may be recognizable as sexual harassment, corruption, intimidation, aggressive and violent behavior. As an abuse of police officer’s position and powers is considered every conduct that threatens or that could endanger the ability of a correct, consistent and impartial performance of police duties and has the purpose of personal benefit. The purpose of the diploma work is the study of deviant behavior of police officers. Deviant phenomena that occur in the work of police officers will be presented: police corruption, types of police corruption, aggressive behavior, violence and intimidation in the workplace, sexual harassment, the consequences thereof and their management.
