Title:UPORABA ATOMSKE FLUORESCENČNE SPEKTROMETRIJE ZA DOLOČANJE VSEBNOSTI ŽIVEGA SREBRA V VZORCIH POVRŠINSKIH VOD

Abstract:Namen diplomske naloge je bil optimizacija in validacija metode določevanja živega srebra po principu atomske fluorescenčne spektrometrije. Metodo smo izbrali zato, ker ima najnižjo mejo zaznavnosti, kar je bistvenega pomena pri določevanju živega srebra v vodnih vzorcih. Pri določanju smo se osredotočili tudi na problematiko onesnaževanja z živim srebrom v Sloveniji. V Šaleški dolini za potrebe električne energije v Termoelektrarni Šoštanj v ozračje emitirajo živo srebro, kar vpliva na okoliške reke, jezera in potoke. Meritve smo izvajali s pomočjo instrumenta Mercur DUO, s katerim smo za določanje izbrali metodo US EPA 1631. Po opravljeni celotni validaciji, kjer smo preizkusili linearnost, delovno območje, LOD, LOQ, občutljivost, natančnost, točnost, stabilnost in robustnost, smo to metodo preizkusili še na vzorcih površinskih vod. Ugotovili smo, da moramo biti zelo pazljivi pri samem vzorčenju in shranjevanju. Pri stabilizaciji moramo nujno uporabiti 5 mL 37% HCl brez vsebnosti Hg na 1 L vzorca. Reagent kositrov klorid moramo po pripravi porabiti v roku dveh dni. Na vzorcih površinskih vod okoliških jezer (Velenjsko, Šoštanjsko, Škalsko jezero ter reka Paka) pa nismo izmerili preseženih mejnih koncentracij živega srebra.

Title:ATOMIC FLUORESCENCE SPECTROMETRY FOR MERCURY DETERMINATION IN SURFACE WATERS
Abstract:The purpose of this diploma was optimization and validation of a method for mercury determination using atomic fluorescent spectrometry. We chose this method because it has the lowest border of perception which is significant for mercury determination in water samples. While determinating we also focused on mercury pollution problems in Slovenia. Thermal power plant Šoštanj emits mercury in the atmosphere for its needs of electricity which affects surrounding rivers, lakes and streams in Šaleška dolina. We conducted measurements with help of Mercur DUO instrument which we used to determine the US EPA 1631 method. After validation, where we tested linearity, work area, LOD, LOQ, sensitivity, accuracy, stability and robustness we tested this method on a sample of surface waters. We determined that we must be very careful when sampling and saving. When stabilizing we must urgently use 5 mL of 37% HCL without content of Hg on 1L of each sample. After preparation we must use the reagent stannous chloride within two days. At the end we did not measure any redundant border concentrations of mercury in samples from surrounding lakes (Velenjsko, Šoštanjsko, Škalsko and river Paka).
