Title:Možnost pridelave travniške arnike (Arnica chamissonis Less. ssp. foliosa (Nutt.) Maguire) v Spodnji Savinjski dolini glede na različno gostoto nasada

Abstract:Potreba naše družbe po zdravilih in alternativnih pripravkih se veča in z njo pridobivanje ter izkoriščanje zdravilnih rastlin, rastočih v naravi. Prepričanje, da so samo te najboljše za uporabo in jih ni mogoče gojiti na poljih, je dokazano zmotno. V poljskem poskusu leta 2011 se je to pokazalo pri zelo vsestransko uporabni trajnici travniški arniki (Arnica chamissonis Less. ssp. foliosa (Nutt.) Maguire), ki je po učinkovinah povsem enaka ali celo boljša od avtohtone gorske arnike (Arnica montana L.). Namen poskusa je približati pridelavo arnike ekološkim pridelovalcem, zeliščarjem in posameznikom ter s tem ohraniti naravna rastišča gorske arnike. Na domačem polju v Savinjski dolini je bilo preverjeno, če ta rastlina sploh uspeva v našem podnebju in kakšna gostota ji najbolje ustreza za dober razvoj in pridelek. V poskusu so bile leta 2010 vzgojene in nasajene sadike, leta 2011 pa analizirana obnova in višina rastlin, pridelek, zapleveljenost, čas ročne odbire in učinkovitost pobiranja glede na različne gostote rastlin v nasadu. Ker se travniška arnika razraste z rizomi, se čez zimo zelo dobro okorenini, kar je pokazalo štetje mladih rastlin spomladi 2011. Ponekod se je gostota povečala za kar do 31-krat. Izkazalo se je, da ima termin odbire cvetov statistično značilen vpliv na pridelek in višino rastlin. Gostota zasaditve ni pokazala pomembnih razlik v pridelku, kljub temu je bil ta največji pri 7,7 rastline/m2 oziroma medvrstni razdalji 30 cm in vrstni razdalji 40 cm.

Title:Cultivation of meadow arnica (Arnica chamissonis Less. ssp. foliosa (Nutt.) Maguire) in the lower Savinja Valley in connection with various planting densities
Abstract:Contemporary society's demand for medication and alternative treatments is increasing as are various ways of deriving treatments from naturally-occurring medicinal plants. The belief that only naturally-occurring plants are good for deriving medicines and that it is not possible to cultivate such plants on fields and meadows is incorrect and this can be proven. In a meadow experiment conducted in 2011, perennial meadow arnica (Arnica chamissonis Less. ssp. foliosa (Nutt.) Maguire) was shown to be equivalent or even more effective in terms of medicinal properties than endogenous mountain arnica (Arnica montana L.). The objective of the experiment was to bring cultivation of arnica closer to ecological farmers, herbalists, and individuals in order to preserve plant populations of mountain arnica in their natural habitat. An experiment was conducted to determine if meadow arnica can be grown in our micro-climate and which planting density is most suitable for good plant growth and a good harvest on a home meadow in the lower Savinja Valley. In an experimental trial conducted in 2010, saplings were planted and grown, and in 2011, the degree of spawning of new buds, plant height, crop yield, weed growth, time of manual cultivation and efficiency of picking with respect to various plant densities in given planting cells were measured and analyzed. Because meadow arnica grows by way of rhizomes it takes root very effectively during the winter, which was determined by counting of fledgling plants in the spring of 2011. In some cases, plant density increased up to 31 times. It was shown that flower harvesting times had a statistically significant influence on crop yields and plant height. Planting density variation did not show significant correlation with plant yields, although the maximum was shown at a plant density of 7,7 p./m2 and an inter-row distance of 30 cm and an intra-row distance of 40cm.
