Abstract:Razvitost prometa in razvejanost prometnih omrežij je eden ključnih pokazateljev razvitosti države ali povezanosti področja.

Title:The railway sector of Japan
Abstract:Transport development and a diversification of the transport networks is one of the key indicators of a country´s development or an integration of an area. In purpose of determining the influence of each branch of transport on the economy, we have explored the Japanese railway sector and its impact on country. We have also made comparison of the Japanese railway sector with three well-developed areas – the United States of America, European Union and Slovenia. Regarding the area we have explored, the key macroeconomic findings are that Japan is one of the best developed countries in the world, although the economic growth of the country is lower than expected. Through the analysis of the railway sector, we have proved a high level of technological development, which is, due to its accuracy, regularity, safety and a high level of comfort, the main reason for the mass demand of the railway services. We have found out that from the perspective of passenger transport, the railway sector of Japan is better developed than the road, air and maritime transport. Through the comparison of the four areas, we have also proved the expected strong technological development of the Japanese railway network. According to all the compared data and considering the passenger transport, we conclude that the railway sector of Japan is one of the most developed and productive transport sectors in the world, which represents a strong impact on the economic development and the integration of the country.
