Opis:Diplomsko delo obsega raziskavo s katero smo poskušali ugotoviti kako temperatura vode vpliva na razširjenost, velikost in optimalno fiziološko delovanje vodne solate (Pistia stratiotes L.). Raziskava je potekala ob termalni vodi pri Čatežu in v laboratoriju na oddelku za biologijo na Fakulteti za naravoslovje in matematiko. Na terenu smo popisovali pojavljanje vodne solate vzdolž temperaturnega gradienta. Proučili smo ali se rastline v različnih temperaturnih razmerah med seboj razlikujejo v anatomski zgradbi korenin in listov ter njihovi učinkovitosti fotosinteze pri različnih temperaturah okolja. Meritve smo izvajali v mesecu marcu in v juniju 2012. Za merjenje fluorescence smo uporabili napravo Handy PEA (Hansatech, Norfolk, Anglija), za določitev vrednosti SPAD pa smo uporabili SPAD – 502 (Konica Minolta, Osaka, Japonska). Na terenu smo vzdolž temperaturnega gradienta določili 5 lokacij z večjimi temperaturnimi skoki, iz katerih smo nekaj svežih rastlin prenesli v laboratorij. V laboratoriju smo pripravili sveže mokre preparate. Iz vsake lokacije smo izbrali 10 listov 10 različnih rastlin in 5 korenin petih različnih rastlin in naredili prečne prereze, ki smo jih kasneje proučevali. Na makroskopskem nivoju smo rastlinam določili suho maso ločeno na biomaso listov in korenin, samim listom pa smo določili specifično listno površino (SLA). Z raziskavo smo potrdili dejstvo, da P. stratiotes L. najbolje uspeva v temperaturnem območju med 22 in 30 C, medtem, ko smo prišli do ugotovitev, da rast, razširjenost rastline poleg temperature pogojena tudi z drugimi dejavniki. Na naše rezultate je močno vplivala prisotnost čistilne naprave v Topli strugi.

Naslov:Anatomy and physiology tropical water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.) in thermal water in Čatež
Opis:The diploma thesis includes the research by which an attempt was made to establish how the water temperature influences dissemination, size and optimal physiological effect of the aquatic lettuce (Pistia stratiotes L.). The research was conducted by thermal water in Čatež and in the laboratory of Department for biology at Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The growth inventory of the aquatic lettuce along temperature gradient on the field was made. It has been studied whether the plants differ from each other in anatomical structure of the leaves and the photosynthesis efficiency at different environmental temperatures. The measurements were executed in March and June 2012. The Handy PEA device (Hansatech, Norfolk, England) for measuring fluorescence and SPAD – 502 (Konica Minolta, Osaka, Japan) for defining SPAD values were used. Five locations were determined on the field along the temperature gradient from which the fresh plants were transported to the laboratory. Fresh wet preparations were set up in the laboratory. Ten leaves from ten different plants and five roots from five different plants were chosen on each location on which transverse sections that were studied later were performed. At the macroscopic level, the dry weight of plants separated to biomass of leaves and roots was determined; each leave was defined the specific leaf area (SLA). The fact that P. stratiotes L. thrives in the temperature range between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius has been confirmed with the research. For the duration of the experiment has also been established that growth and dissemination in addition to the temperature are conditioned also by other facts. The results were strongly influenced by the wastewater treatment plant in Topla struga.
