Abstract:Diplomsko nalogo, ki nosi naslov Disciplina in motivacija pri pouku glasbe v zadnjem triletju osnovne šole sestavljata teoretični in praktični del. V drugem, praktičnem, delu diplomske naloge so predstavljeni rezultati anketnih vprašalnikov in razlaga le-teh.

Title:DISCIPLINE AND MOTIVATION IN THE MUSIC CLASS OF THE THIRD CYCLE OF PRYMARY EDUCATION
Abstract:The present diploma thesis entitled Discipline and Motivation in the Music Class of the Third Cycle of Primary Education consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. The greatest problem that schools are facing nowadays is the lack of discipline. In the firs, theoretical, part of the thesis, discipline and motivation were closely examined. The focus of the study was on the causes: why indiscipline occurs at schools in the first place. A description of some discipline problems at Slovene and foreign schools was given. Guidance for teachers facing and preventing indiscipline was also provided. Students are increasingly aware of their rights; however, they almost do not know their responsibilities, therefore a description of student rights, responsibilities, punishment and praise, with addition of instructions for teachers on how and when to use them, was given. The second section of the theoretical part of the thesis focuses on motivation. Motivation theories which are divided into need theories, activity theories and goal-oriented theories were described. The thesis closely examined learning motivation. It was analysed how motivated and unmotivated students function at school and how education and environment influence them. In the second, empirical, part of the thesis, the questionnaire results and their analysis were presented. It was discovered that teachers are satisfied with the discipline level in their music classes and, also, that students are satisfied with their teachers and motivation level provided by them.
