Abstract:Projekti so nujni za uspešno poslovanje organizacij, saj pozitivno vplivajo na rast in razvoj organizacije v vseh njenih fazah. Obvladovanje multiprojektnega poslovanja ob razvejani organizacijski strukturi in virtualnosti RC SIMIT bo izjemno zahtevno, še posebej ker so prakse projektnega vodenja v partnerskih družbah različne.

Title:THE ANALYSIS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT MODELS IN THE PARTNER COMPANIES OF SIMIT
Abstract:Projects represent an essential part of successful business organizations as they have a positive influence on the growth and development of an organization in all its phases. Project management is engaged in managing, administration and directing of projects, therefore it is of strategic importance to an organization. The development of internet and related technologies has enabled the rise of new forms of organizations, where the communication and coordination of projects among partners working in remote locations is made possible by the help of information technologies. The is no uniform definition for the concept of a virtual organization, but at its core the definition focuses on either a company that conducts its operations primarily through electronic media, or a group of independent companies and experts cooperating because they want to better exploit business opportunities. In the network of companies and experts, each of the participating subjects has its own competences and a role in achieving the goals for which they have been brought together. The involved companies and individuals in virtual organizations share knowledge, experience, risks and costs. Thus, they combine their core competences and key risks. Based on those relationships all partner companies benefit, because the capacity of such an organization is greater than the potential sum of the capacities of individual companies. Each company identifies its core competences in order to make the maximum contribution of knowledge and experience to the organization. This allows the creation of an organization, which combines the best of the participating members. To ensure long term success and competitiveness, organizations must change and adapt to the environment. If they want to evaluate, in which areas they are successful and where their activities can be further improved, they must compare themselves with others. In assessing the level of development of project management, experts have developed the so-called maturity models of project management. These define the optimal states in specific areas of project management, the level of development and a way of progress to higher levels of maturity. RC SIMIT is a company founded in June 2011 and was created to conduct projects of research and development of new materials and technologies as well as their use in different products. RC SIMIT was founded by fourteen companies and two institutes. It was established to create a supportive environment for the development of the RC, the partner companies and others. The partner companies have achieved a level of development and maturity that enables them to combine their potentials and share all the significant risks. By cooperation, they want to transfer knowledge and consequently raise the level of competitiveness of the partner companies. The organization operates as a virtual company based in Talum d.d. in Kidričevo and has twelve business units. These units will conduct separate research programs and work together on major joint projects. At the head of the company in Kidričevo, the strategic project office will be responsible among other things for the coordination and administration of projects. The management of a multiple project environment in an extensive business and organizational structure will be extremely difficult, especially in the light of the practices of project management differing from one partner company to another. Partner companies use different models of project management with diverse organizational solutions and IT support to project operations, and there are probably even different levels of knowledge and skills of employees. For the management of the a multi project environment of RC SIMIT, all of the above stated factors will need to be uniformed to an extent that will ensure a successful participation of all partners, enable a central oversight of the projects and uniform the preparation of reports, required by the ministry of the economy as a co-financer of the establishment of RC SIMIT.
