Abstract:V teoretičnem delu smo se seznanili s kratko zgodovino obraznih izrazov in čustev, ki segajo že v čas Charlesa Darwina in Duchenna de Bologna. Za boljše razumevanje empiričnega dela skozi diplomsko delo so predstavljena osnovna čustva. To so strah, presenečenje, gnus, jeza, žalost, prezir in veselje.

Title:READING EMOTIONS FROM FACIAL AND MICRO-FACIAL EXPRESSIONS
Abstract:In theoretical part we were acquainted with short history of facial expressions and emotions which go back in time of Charles Darwin and Duchenne de Bologne. We discussed something about some other scientists, who conducted research on field of facial expressions and emotions. One of them is Professor Dr. Paul Ekman, who left an enormous seal on the field of facial expressions and emotions. After that we continued with a chapter which contains a sensitive subject on universality and cultural differences of emotions, because there was a lot of criticism made on this subject. For better understanding of empirical part we discussed the topic of basics emotions. These are fear, surprise, disgust, anger, sadness, contempt and happiness. Beside basics emotions, theoretical part also contains micro-facial expressions, which are very important for revealing emotional states that are intentionally concealed. In empirical part of the thesis we presented our conducted research. The purpose of research was to show different facial expressions of emotions, some methods of masking emotions, false expressions and to prove existence of micro-facial expressions. We also tried to find out, if micro-facial expressions can help us to understand and separate real emotions from fake or simulated emotions. We concluded that if the stimulus was intensive enough, emotions will appear. Because many participants have concealed their true emotional state with facial expressions but at the end their true emotions were shown trough micro-facial expressions.
