Abstract:Diplomsko delo govori o zgodovini terorizma, o prvih pojavih in oblikah ter njegovem zgodovinskem poreklu. Prvi del diplomskega dela opisuje, kdo so teroristi, kaj jih pripelje do odločitve, da postanejo teroristi in svoje življenje izročijo teroristični organizaciji oziroma celici.

Title:TERRORISM AND TERRORIST PROFILE
Abstract:This paper looks at the history of terrorism, its phenomena, first occurrences and historical origin. Terrorism has been present in societies and interpersonal relationships since time immemorial and has a long history in different religions. Terrorism is the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organised group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. In the first part I have described who terrorists are, what drives them to become terrorists and put their lives into the hands of terrorist organizations or cells. This part also examines the reasons why some individuals allow such organizations to manipulate with their emotions, or even take their lives, but also how terrorists differ according to their sex, what the differences are and how they affect them. The second part of the paper describes terrorist leaders, their profiles and the environment where they live and operate as well as how these factors affect each individual terrorist, but also the reasons for their hatred of countries against which they carry out acts of terrorism. In the conclusion I have explained why nowadays terrorists are labelled criminals or perpetrators, why the recent global crisis has increased terrorism threats and the number of terrorism sympathisers, and finally, why as a result of this the means of achieving their goals and executing acts of terrorism are changing.
