Jedro diplomske naloge obsežneje obravnava analizo Zagajškove slovnice po posameznih ravninah (glasoslovje, oblikoslovje, besedotvorje, skladnja, pravopis) v primerjavi z današnjo slovnico.

Title:ZAGAJŠEK'S SLOVENE GRAMMAR
Abstract:In the diploma thesis entitled Zagajšek's Slovene grammar, the Styrian grammar of Mihael Zagajšek has been analyzed which the first had Slovenian as the discussion language next to German as well. Zagajšek's life, his literary work, and his opinion about the language and criticisms that followed his German-Slovenian grammar are discussed in the introduction part of the thesis. It has been interesting to discover what affected Zagajšek's creativity. There cannot be possibilities excluded that the additional interest was caused by Kalobje manuscript find. There were two varieties of the Slovenian literary language defined, the Central Slovenian and Eastern Slovenian literary language, which are important for understanding of the Slovenian language and history of Slovenian nation. The core of the diploma thesis deals with the analysis of Zagajšek's grammar comprehensively on different levels (phonetics, morphology, word formation, syntax, orthography) in comparison to today's grammar. Zagajšek was accused of plagiarism of Pohlin and Gutsman, therefore, the main details and differences among their grammars have been compared. Zagajšek was reproached with plagiarism of Pohlin's terminology; therefore, their grammar terminology has been compared. Zagajšek's acquaintance Slomšek wrote a grammar later on (in the 19th century). It is followed by a comparison of Zagajšek's grammar with Slomšek's manuscript. The diploma thesis is completed with the appropriate findings which are the most obvious at the discussed topics.
