Abstract:Možganska kap je ena najpogostejših kroničnih bolezni današnjega časa in velikokrat pušča trajne posledice, zaradi katerih so zmanjšane motorične, kognitivne, govorne in socialne zmožnosti obolelega.

Title:EDUCATIONAL MODEL FOR ENSURING A QUALITY WAY OF LIFE FOR PATIENTS AFTER HAVING A BRAIN STROKE
Abstract:Brain stroke is one of the most common cronic diseases of modern time, which mostly leaves permanent consequences that diminish motor, cognitive, verbal and social capabilities of the patient. Patient rehabilitation and reintegration into a social environment is a long-term process that requires a lot of patience and hard work from the patients family and loved ones. After the hospitalization is over there are a lot of problems that emerge upon arrival to a domestic environment, which could be solved by advisement or simply discussing them. We designed an interactive web-communication environment, based upon previously implemented research, which informs the user about the most common problems regarding domestic care of a stroke victim. It also indicates the solutions and allows for a free exchange of opinions. The web portal represents a modern way of education with the use of an electronic medium. The web site is a helpful tool to show stroke victims and their loved ones how to overcome obstacles regarding post-hospitalization care and also connecting people with similar problems. The web portal is publicly available at any given time and is available for updating. Further development and maintenance of the portal is possible by communication between the maintenace and users throug an open forum. By applying a spiral model to the interactive e-communication tool that is meant to educate stroke victim families we will provide a high quality, adaptable, fast-growing and user friendly interface that is designed to diminish the effort and work load of the medical staff as well as the patient's families.
