Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom Ptujska gimnazija je na začetku na kratko predstavljen razvoj gimnazij na Slovenskem, nato je posebna pozornost namenjena razvoju Gimnazije Ptuj od ustanovitve v 19. stoletju do 21. stoletja, učiteljskemu kadru, vpisu dijakov in predmetniku od 19. do 21. stoletja ter trdemu boju, ki se je bil za uveljavitev slovenskega jezika v njej. Ptujska gimnazija je predstavljena skozi začetke šolstva na Ptuju, ko je bila izobraževalna ustanova v nemških rokah. V nadaljevanju je opisana krepitev narodne zavesti med ljudmi ter boj za slovenski jezik v gimnaziji pod vodstvom naprednih učiteljev in perspektivnih gimnazijcev. Po okupaciji je gimnazija predstavljena s poudarkom pomena njenega delovanja na razvoj mesta, prav tako so predstavljeni tudi pomembnejši učitelji in dijaki, ki so delovali in se izobraževali v njej.

Title:Ptuj grammar school
Abstract:My diploma thesis with the title Ptuj Grammar School begins with a brief development overview of Slovenian primary schools. Then it focuses on development of the Ptuj Grammar School from its establishment in 19th until 21st century, its teaching personnel, pupil enrollment and syllabus from 19th to 21st century and the tough battle for the enforcement of Slovene in it. Ptuj Grammar School is represented through the beginnings of the school system in Ptuj, as it was an educational institution in German hands. Progressive teachers and perspective pupils fought to strengthen national consciousness among people and led a battle for the Slovenian language in high school. High school was also important for development of the city after the occupation, important teachers and pupils, who worked at and attended it, are listed.
