V diplomskem delu smo podrobneje raziskali, kako dobro medicinske sestre poznajo spletne strani druge generacije, ali omenjene spletne strani uporabljajo in v kakšni meri v njih aktivno sodelujejo.

Title:WORLD WIDE WEB AS A SOURCE OF INFORMATION FOR NURSES
Abstract:Since the mid-nineties, the use of the internet among individuals greatly expanded. In its beginnings at the end of the sixties, when it emerged from a computer program, cosponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, only very few people had access to the internet. Today it is available to more than a quarter of the world population and to more than a half of the European population. There is an immeasurable amount of information in this giant information system. News are published much faster on the Web than in the printed media (books, magazines) or other media (television, radio), primarily because of the obvious advantages such as easier preparation and publication as opposed to tradional media, where more time is needed for editing, printing and distribution. Since the World Wide Web is widely available and infomation sources are mostly reliable and up to date, it can be very helpful for a nurse. She can find usable information on Web pages aimed at a wider range of visitors, or more narrowly specialized pages that contain information intended for a specific group of users. Such information sources can be found on the websites of various libraries in the form of articles, research studies ... We explored some of these websites in more detail. New generation of websites, so-called "Web 2.0" websites, has started to emerge over the past few years. These sites are based on social relations, that is, the interaction between individuals and they are based on newer Web technologies. Today, a certain proportion of nurses use these sites to gain and disseminate knowledge, exchange experience and interact socially. In this thesis, we further investigated how well the nurses know the web sites of the second generation, if they use them and to what extent take an active part in them. The survey results show that nurses know about the second generation web sites, but they are not actively used in such a way that would help them at work.
