Magistrsko nalogo sestavljata dva dela: v prvem delu predstavljamo teoretična izhodišča s področja celovitega obvladovanja kakovosti, internega marketinga in zadovoljstva zaposlenih; v drugem delu pa predstavljamo rezultate empirične aplikacije merjenja zadovoljstva zaposlenih v majhnih podjetjih v Sloveniji.

Title:EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION AS A PART OF TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN SMALL COMPANIES IN SLOVENIA
Abstract:Companies are more and more aware of the fact, that the only way they can master the market changes and the new ways of doing business is by starting to devote more attention to their employees, investing in them and their development; this is the only way the employees will contribute to the company's long-term competitiveness and success. One of the major challenges that companies face nowadays is: how to motivate their employees and how to create an environment in which they will achieve their personal goals and contribute to the objectives of the company at the same time. The master's thesis consists of two parts: the first section presents theoretical framework in the field of total quality management, internal marketing and employee satisfaction; in the second part we present the results of empirical application of measuring employee satisfaction in small companies in Slovenia. In the context of our study, we describe and analyze the factors that affect employee satisfaction, analyze the link between these factors and the general or complete satisfaction of employees and examine the link between the individual categories of organizational climate. By using the results of our study, we checked all the pre-set research hypotheses and came to the following conclusions: estimate of the overall employees satisfaction does not differ by gender and education of the employees, but it does vary according to the age and seniority of the respondents; there is a positive correlation between complete employee satisfaction and some factors (job content, working conditions, relationship with management and relations with colleagues); there is a statistically significant difference between the average estimate of overall satisfaction and average estimate of complete employee satisfaction; employees in small firms in Slovenia are more satisfied with their relationships with colleagues and content of work as with salary and opportunities of education and additional training; employees in small firms in Slovenia have also better assess the relationship toward quality and internal relations as the management and internal communication and information. With the help of master's thesis, we pointed out the crucial importance of employee satisfaction and organizational climate for success of companies and we pointed out how measuring of employee satisfaction helps companies to identify and monitor their own strengths and weaknesses and to guide future efforts of the company.
