Title:Funkcionalizacija vlaken s sinergistično formulacijo tenzid-polisaharid

Abstract:Številni postopki funkcionalizacije medicinskih tekstilij so človeku in okolju neprijazni. Zaradi tega, vse večje zdravstvene osveščenosti ljudi in številnega porasta različnih bolezni se povečuje zanimanje za postopke, kjer se uporabljajo okolju prijazni alternativni polisaharidi. Večina alternativnih polisaharidov ima za tovrstno uporabo pomanjkljivosti, kot je omejena inhibicija patogenih bakterij. Ideja magistrske naloge je v razvoju sinergistične formulacije med polisaharidom hialuronsko kislino z vlažilnim učinkom in novo, naravno kationsko površinsko aktivno snovjo MKM s protimikrobnimi lastnostmi, za premaz na viskozni tkanini. Za karakterizacijo sinergistične formulacije med MKM in hialuronsko kislino smo uporabili nevtralizacijske potenciometrične titracije, potenciometrične titracije z uporabo ionselektivne elektrode, občutljive za površinsko aktivne snovi, ter fluorimetrične titracije na osnovi pirena. Rezultati so pokazali, da so interakcije med obema nad kritično koncentracijo asociacije močno kooperativnega značaja. Izoterme stopnje vezanja pa kažejo na vezavo površinsko aktivnega sredstva na hialuronsko kislino v presežku. Karakterizacijo viskozne tkanine, funkcionalizirane s sinergistično formulacijo, smo izvedli z uporabo nevtralizacijskih potenciometričnih titracij, meritvijo stičnega kota s tenziometrijo in protimikrobnim testiranjem. Funkcionalizirana viskozna tkanina izkazuje pozitiven naboj zaradi prisotnosti MKM, kar se neposredno odraža v njeni izredni redukciji patogenih bakterij. Funkcionalizacija viskozne tkanine s sinergistično formulacijo med MKM in hialuronsko kislino je inovativna in primerna za uporabo v medicinske namene, predvsem na področju celjenja ran.

Title:Functionalization of fibres by synergistic formulation of surfactant-polysaccharides
Abstract:The use of environmental friendly alternative polysaccharides for functionalization of medical textiles has recently gained a lot of interest due to environmental unfriendliness of conventional functionalization processes, higher health consciousness of people and an increased number of diseases. The lack of some important properties needed for usage in the field of medical textiles, such as inhibition of pathogenic bacteria, has driven us to improve the performance of the anionic polysaccharide hialuronic acid, which shows high wetting ability, by synergism with a novel natural cationic surfactant MKM, showing promising antimicrobial properties. The synergistic formulation was used as a coating for viscose fabrics. Fluorimetric and pH potentiometric titrations as well as titrations using an ion selective electrode sensitive to surfactants were used in order to characterize the synergistic formulation between MKM and hialuronic acid. The results have shown a strong cooperative binding between both species above the critical association concentration as well as adsorption of MKM onto hialuronic acid chains in excess. pH potentiometric titrations, tensiometry and antimicrobial tests were carried out in order to characterize the viscose fabric functionalized by the synergistic formulation of MKM and hialuronic acid. The results have shown the presence of positive charge at the functionalized viscose fabric surface due to the introduction of MKM, which directly reflected in outstanding reduction of pathogenic bacteria. The synergistic formulation of MKM and hialuronic acid is a promising and innovative coating for viscose fabric functionalization and very appropriate for usage in the field of medical textiles, especially in the field of wound healing.
