Title:ANALIZA NANO-KOMPOZITNIH FILTROV Z UPORABO MALOKOTNEGA IN ŠIROKOKOTNEGA RENTGENSKEGA SIPANJA (SWAXS)

Abstract:Cilj naloge »Analiza nano-kompozitnih filtrov z uporabo malokotnega in širokokotnega rentgenskega sipanja (SWAXS)« je izdelati nano-kompozit in z uporabo malokotne rentgenske analizne metode (SAXS) analizirati strukturo ter določiti vpliv različnih pogojev na razplastitev plastenih silikatov. Pripravili smo disperzije nanodelcev montmorilonita z različnimi površinsko aktivnimi sredstvi v različnih koncentracijah. Iz disperzij smo s postopkom fotopolimerizacije izdelali polimerizirane N-isopropilakrilamidne (PNIPAAM) hidrogele z vključenimi plastenimi silikati. Analizirali smo morfološke značilnosti hidrogelov z vrstičnim elektronskim mikroskopom (SEM). Z rentgensko strukturno analizo smo določili stopnjo razplastitve plastenih silikatov v disperziji, v disperziji z dodatkom monomera ter v hidrogelu. Na podlagi SEM posnetkov hidrogelov smo ugotovili, da je pri vseh prisotna porna struktura v obliki satovja. Na podlagi rentgenskih sipalnih krivulj smo izračunali dimenzije galerij v plastenih silikatih in ugotovili, da se te povečajo že ob dodatku monomera pred polimerizacijo, kar pomeni, da imamo vrinjeno strukturo oz. interkalacijo. Po polimerizaciji so razdalje med plastmi še večje oz. na sipalni krivulji ni izrazitega maksimuma, ki bi kazal na prisotnost ponavljajočih se strukturnih enot. Izdelali smo nano-kompozit z delaminirano oz. razplasteno strukturo.

Title:SWAXS ANALYSIS OF NANO-COMPOSITE FILTERS
Abstract:The objective of the thesis “SWAXS analysis of nano-composite filters” is preparation of a nano-composite, its small-angle x-ray structural analysis (SAXS) and determination of the effects of different conditions on the exfoliation of layered silicates. We prepared dispersions of montmorillonite nano-particles with different surface active agents in different concentrations. With the dispersions we prepared polymerized N-isopropylacrylamide (PNIPAAM) hydrogels with included layered silicates using photopolymerization method. We analyzed morphological characteristics of hydrogels using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Using SAXS analysis we determined the degree of exfoliation of layered silicates in dispersions, in dispersions with added monomer and in hydrogels. On the basis of SEM micrographs of hydrogels we determined that there is a pore structure present in every hydrogel in the form of a honeycomb. On the basis of x-ray scattering curves we calculated the dimensions of galleries in layered silicates and found that they increase already by adding monomer before polymerization, which means that the intercalation occurred. After polymerization the distances between layers increase even more, there is no sharp maximum on the scattering curve that would indicate the presence of repeated structural units. We prepared a nano-composite with a delaminated structure.
