Abstract: Abstrakcija je poseben fenomen v slikarstvu.
Keywords:lirična abstrakcija, abstraktni ekspresionizem, akcijsko slikarstvo, informel, asociativna abstrakcija, geometrijska abstrakcija, modernizem, avantgardna gibanja.

Title:LYRICAL ABSTRACTION AND SIMILAR PHENOMENA IN MODERN ART
Abstract: Abstraction is a special phenomenon in painting. Up until now it has changed a lot and has developed in different directions; ones staying closer to geometry and others closer to expressionism. Lyrical abstraction is only one of the abstraction forms in modern painting, which is based on free, relaxed gesticulation. At a glance it is often difficult to separate it from some paintings in other styles such as tachisme, action painting, informel and abstract expressionism. The border between these courses is very thin and sometimes difficult to define; above all when dealing with painters, who tested various forms of abstraction in their work. Lyrical abstraction is also bound on geographical position. After the Second World War in the United States of America under the leadership of New York school started to develop lyrical within the abstract expressionism. Furthermore, Paris, the European capital of arts, started to encourage lyrical abstraction in school and expanded it across the boarders. Therefore, the fact that lyrical abstraction exists in our vicinity, in Croatia, Serbia and also in Slovenia, is not surprising. In the thesis I will present the works of the most famous representatives of modernism in Europe and USA and also my abstract-lyrical works.
Keywords:lyrical abstraction, abstract expressionism, action painting, informel, associative abstraction, geometrical abstraction, modernism, avant-garde movement.
