Abstract:Namen naloge je bil ugotoviti vpliv starosti in spola na vzdržljivost pripadnikov Slovenske vojske. Podatki so bili obdelani z osnovno statistiko. Dobljene vrednosti so rezultat mediane. Ti so namesto teka opravljali test hoje.

Title:THE EFFECT OF AGE AND GENDER ON THE SLOVENIAN ARMED FORCES MEMBERS ENDURANCE
Abstract:The aim of this thesis was to find out the effect of age and gender on the Slovenian Armed Forces members’ endurance. The findings are a result of testing a 3200 meter run or a 3800 meter walk, which is one of the three tests performed under the physical fitness test in the Slovenian Armed Forces. The sample of subjects comprised 6333 Slovenian Armed Forces members aged 18 to 60 years. The subjects were classified into seven age groups and according to gender. The sample of variables included measurement procedures used for measuring time needed to finish a 3200 meter run or a 3800 meter walk. The measurements were made in spring and autumn 2010 in the military posts throughout Slovenia. Some measurements were also made in certain NATO bases in Europe. The data was processed with basic statistics. It was processed for individual age groups and separately according to gender for running and for walking. The values gained are a result of median value. The research showed an expected fall of endurance with the increase of age. The research also showed an expected rise of the number subjects, medically excused from the 3200 meter run, which correlated with the increase of age of individuals. Instead of performing this test they participated in the 3800 meter walk. This analysis showed a difference between genders as women have more health issues than men.
