Abstract:Stresa v delovnem okolju je vedno več.

Title:STRESS IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT OF THE MARIBOR INSURANCE COMPANY
Abstract:The level of stress in the working environment is constantly increasing. This rise is to be ascribed to increasingly high expectations that have been placed on employees (rapid changes in the workplace, high competition and high achievement striving,..) Stress, however, is not only present in leadership positions, but in all work situations. In the following master thesis, workplace stress has been studied in Maribor Insurance Company. The thesis has been divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the main focus has been placed on the theory of stress, stress in the workplace, as well as on factors that cause stress and methods to avoid it. The empirical part of the thesis presents the research on workplace stress performed in Maribor Insurance Company. The analysis has been carried out in order to assess the presence of stress in Maribor Insurance Company, to find whether sales consultants show higher levels of stress than the employees in support services, as well as to determine the influence of gender and age on the stress level. Results have shown quite a high level of stress present in the working environment of the Maribor Insurance Company. Individual job positions, however, did not show much stress. This means that stress is generally present in the company atmosphere, coming from other sources and leaving individual positions predominantly stress-free. The reason for such a result comes from the fact that employees working on senior posts were exempt from the investigation. Their inclusion in the research would considerably change the results. Another interesting fact is that the level of stress does not depend on the age of an employee or his type of employment.
Keywords:stress, types of stress, stress in the working environment, models of stress, sources of stress, individual stressors, organizational stressors, stress prevention, strategies for coping with stress, eliminating stress.
