Title:FOOTBALLERS NUTRITION IN THE PREPARATORY PERIOD
Abstract:Food in the modern world is becoming a more important part of the individuals’ health concerns. The rapidly changing conditions of life and extraordinary progress of science and modern human diets has changed significantly and rapidly. Thus, the foundation of a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention clearly enough, is also a healthy diet. Sports nutrition is a term that is normally used for those aspects of the science of nutrition that are related to diet and physical activity. Sports nutrition is therefore part of the total way of life, particularly with food, which in its composition is the most efficient way to support the organism during the process of training, whilst at the same time providing protection of the body. The importance of carbohydrates for better physical ability and fitness levels compared with protein and fat has long been known. Diets high in carbohydrates which are combined with targeted training, increase reserves of glycogen in muscles and the liver and also increase the efficiency of the carbohydrate itself. Heavy exercise and sweating excessively in football players can lead to significant fluid loss, which in turn leads to deterioration of performance in practice and games. Therefore, a body during exercise needs increased water intake caused by the loss of fluid experienced by athletes due to sweating and accelerated breathing.
