Abstract:V diplomskem delu z naslovom ˝Vpliv telesnih značilnosti na gibalne sposobnosti pet let starih otrok˝ smo skušali ugotoviti, ali telesne značilnosti vplivajo na gibalne sposobnosti pet let starih otrok. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene telesne značilnosti otrok.

Title:THE IMPACT OF PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS ON THE PHYSICAL ABILITIES OF FIVE YEARS OLD CHILDREN
Abstract:In this diploma work entitled "The influence of physical characteristics on the physical abilities of five year old children'' we have tried to determine whether physical characteristics affect the physical abilities of five year old children. For testing, we used eight motor tests to determine a development of balance, coordination, explosive power, agility and endurance as functional ability. The research problem is represented by the differences between boys and girls in the achieved results of motor tests, the differences between boys and girls of the same age in physical characteristics, the influence of physical characteristics of children on physical abilities and the comparison of outcome of children with lower body mass index and children with higher body mass index. In the theoretical part, the physical characteristics of children are represented. The following describes the physical abilities: coordination, balance, flexibility, precision, speed, strength and endurance as a functional ability. The empirical study presents the results of tests of motor skills that we have collected on the basis of a sample of 92 children aged from five to six years, from six units Kindergarten Ormož. When processing the data we have come to the following conclusions: differences in the results of motor skills between boys and girls can be seen, the differences in physical characteristics between boys and girls cannot be seen, the differences in the results of motor tests among children with normal weight and overweight children are very small, physical characteristics of the measured population do not affect their physical abilities.
