Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo z metodama LCA (Life Cycle Assessment method) in Eko-indikator 99 analizirali okoljske vplive štirih različnih vrst toaletnega papirja, namenjenega končni izdelavi rolic.

Title:ANALYSIS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF TOILET PAPER PRODUCTION FROM DIFFERENT RAW MATERIALS
Abstract:In this diploma work, the methods LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and Eco-indicator 99 were applied to analyze the environmental impacts of four different types of toilet papers. The economic analysis was performed in order to determine the production costs of each toilet paper. Different types of toilet papers are produced from different raw materials, which can vary from cellulose pulp to various kinds of waste paper. The results of the environmental impact assessment show that toilet papers made from recycled waste papers (PP and AP toilet papers) have the lowest environmental impacts. Higher impact was determined for paper produced from the mixture of cellulose pulp and waste paper (TT toilet paper). The toilet paper made from cellulose (CC toilet paper) has the most unpleasant environmental impact. The production of PP toilet paper is the cheapest because it is made from the worst types of waste papers, however, its market demand is also low. A bit higher is a production cost of AP toilet paper which is made from older waste paper of low quality. Higher production cost was determined for CC paper, which is made from a cellulose pulp. This toilet paper is in great demand despite its high price. The highest production cost was determined for TT toilet paper which is produced from mixture of old waste papers of higher quality, and a cellulose pulp.
