Države članice Evropske unije in podpisnice sporazuma MERCOSUR skupaj ustvarjajo dobro tretjino (32,3%) svetovnega bruto domačega proizvoda. Članice MERCOSUR skupaj z EU predstavljajo dobrih 17% celotnega svetovnega izvoza blaga in skoraj 20% celotnega svetovnega uvoza blaga. EU in članice MERCOSUR skupaj opravijo skoraj 28% celotnega svetovnega izvoza storitev ter nekaj več kot 25% celotnega svetovnega uvoza. Izmed držav MERCOSUR z EU največ posluje Brazilija, najpomembnejši trgovinski partnerici državam MERCOSUR pa sta Nemčija in Nizozemska.

Title:ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN MERCOSUR AND EU
Abstract:Economic integration offers small countries to participate in the international environment and thus become competitive. Economic integration brings many advantages such as increase in production due to specialization, reduce costs, improve neighborhood relations, etc. Countries are to join the economic integration of the work required to give up their sovereignty. The European Union and MERCOSUR are economic integration, which are at various stages. The European Union is at a higher level as a full economic integration, MERCOSUR is simply a free trade area. European Union countries and signatories of MERCOSUR, together generate over a third (32.3%) of world gross domestic product. Members of the MERCOSUR and the EU represent over 17% of total world exports of goods and almost 20% of total world imports of goods. EU and MERCOSUR countries represent almost 28% of total world exports of services and over 25% of total world imports of services. There is a strong connection between EU member states, because the intra-EU trade totals represent 68% of the whole EU trade. . Intra-MERCOSUR trade totals represent 14% of the whole MERCOSUR trade and that shows a lower connection between MERCOSUR member states. Brazil is the most important MERCOSUR partner from EU, Germany and Netherlands are the most important EU trade partners from MERCOSUR countries.
