Title:Women's awareness of risk factors about reproductive cancer organs
Abstract:In the first part of diploma we present malignant tumours of female reproductive organs, signs of disease, diagnostic methods and treatment, various risk factors that affect reproductive organs, the impact of heredity on disease, sexual problems during the treatment and nurse's health promotion work. In the second part of diploma we present the results of the survey that was done in September 2010 in Zdravstveni dom Dr. Adolfa Drolca Maribor (OE Varstvo žensk), targeting women which visited chosen gynaecologist that day. A questionnaire consists of eighteen questions and we wanted to explore if women know the risk factors and symptoms, where to get information of risk factors and if women in higher education are more aware of risk factors than those in lower education. The results showe that women in high education know more about the symptoms of disease. Women are generally aware of the risk factors, they get most information about these from media (tv, radio) and the least from nurses. That is a very concerned information, because a nurse is the first contact with women when they visit a chosen gynaecologist and women often entrust nurses with their health problems.
