Title:PRIMERJALNA ANALIZA ANGLEŠKIH PREVODOV SLOVENSKIH TURISTIČNIH BROŠUR

Abstract:Živimo v času, v katerem je prevajanje izrednega pomena. Prisotno je na vseh področjih človekovega delovanja. Strokovno prevajanje je zelo razširjeno na področju prevajanja. V predloženi diplomski nalogi sem se osredinila na prevajanje slovenskih turističnih brošur v angleški jezik ter na ozaveščenost zaposlenih v turistični stroki o pomembnosti prevajalca pri prevajanju, pri čemer sem si pomagala z anketnim vprašalnikom. V tej diplomski nalogi sem se osredinila na problematiko prevajanja slovenskih turističnih brošur. Naredila sem primerjalno analizo izbranih turističnih brošur ter njihovih angleških prevodov. Prav tako sem naredila analizo anketnega vprašalnika. V prvem delu sem na kratko predstavila teorijo prevajanja in na kaj je treba biti pozoren pri prevajanju različnih turističnih besedil. V drugem delu sem si s teoretičnim delom pomagala pri primerjalni analizi. Primerjala sem slovenske turistične brošure ter njihove angleške prevode. Izbrala sem dvanajst različnih besedil. Primerjava je potekala predvsem iz prevajalskega vidika, in sicer kako so prevajalci prevedli določene brošure, na katere probleme so naleteli, kakšne rešitve so uporabili, ali so upoštevali kulturno ozadje, itd. Na podlagi te primerjalne analize sem potem lahko prevode uvrstila v kategorijo slab prevod, dober prevod ali zelo dober prevod. Rezultati primerjalne analize so pokazali, da so prevodi dobri, saj sem uvrstila sedem prevodov v kategorijo zelo dober prevod, štiri v kategorijo dober prevod in samo enega v kategorijo slab prevod. Sledi analiza ankete o pomembnosti prevajalca pri prevajanju. Pri tej anketi je razvidno, da večino institucij predstavljajo hoteli, in sicer z 31,7 %, ter da je potreba po prevajanju v turistični stroki velika. Večina anketirancev, 38,3 %, zaupa prevajanje svojih izvirnikov prevajalskim agencijam, kar predstavlja pozitivno dejstvo, saj se zavedajo pomembnosti prevajalca pri procesu prevajanja. Podrobnejši rezultati anketnega vprašalnika ter primerjalne analize so predstavljeni v sklepnem delu diplomskega dela.

Title:A COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVE ON ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS OF SLOVENE TOURIST BROCHURES
Abstract:Nowadays translation has a very significant meaning. The field of professional translating is widespread and can therefore be found in every aspect of our lives. In the following diploma work I focused on translation of Slovene tourist brochures into English and tried to find out, with the help of the questionnaire, the awareness of the importance of a professional translator in the field of translating in tourism branch. I made a comparative analysis of selected tourist brochures and their English translations. I also carried out the analysis of the questionnaire. In the first part I gathered some theory that helped me in the second part. In the second part I made the comparative analysis. I selected twelve different tourist brochures and their English translations. I was interested mainly in how the translator translated those brochures, what problems did they have, what solutions did they use, etc. Based on this analysis I placed the translations into three different categories: very good translation, good translation, bad/poor translation. Based on the results I can say that the translations are good, because I placed seven of them into the category of a very good translation, four into category of a good translation and only one into category of bad/poor translation. In the third part I carried of the analysis of the questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire and the comparative analysis are described in detail in conclusion.
