Title:VLOGA IZOBRAŽEVANJA V OHRANJANJU IN RAZVOJU ETNIČNE MANJŠINE V DVOJEZIČNEM OKOLJU V PREKMURJU

Abstract:Prekmurje je območje, ki je tako zgodovinsko kot tudi kulturno zelo pestro, saj je stičišče različnih kultur, med katere prištevamo slovensko, madžarsko, romsko in hrvaško kulturo. Iz zgodovinskih razlogov in zaradi številčnosti madžarske etnične manjšine se je pojavila potreba po dvojezičnosti. Ustava Republike Slovenije v 11. členu v splošnih določbah določa, da je poleg slovenščine, na območjih, kjer živi madžarska narodna skupnost, uradni jezik tudi madžarščina. Dvojezičnost se kaže na vseh področjih družbenega življenja, od leta 1959/60 tudi na področju izobraževanja. Dvojezičnost naj bi se uresničevala ne samo na področju dvojezičnega pouka, ampak tudi na področju dvojezičnih učbenikov, dodajanja poglavij o madžarski zgodovini, sodelovanja z madžarskimi šolami, pa tudi izven izobraževanja, npr. v medijih in v delovanju lokalnih uradov. V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela je opredeljena dvojezičnost in pojem dvojezičnega modela izobraževanja pri ohranjanju in razvijanju etnične manjšine. V empiričnem delu je z uporabo in analizo rezultatov anketnega vprašalnika predstavljeno realno stanje dvojezičnega modela izobraževanja na srednji šoli. Glede na postavljene hipoteze se je potrdilo stališče o dvojezičnem modelu izobraževanja kot dejavniku zbliževanja dijakov obeh narodnosti, prav tako pa je bilo potrjeno stališče, da takšen model pomeni večjo možnost zaposlitve v domačem kraju. Večina postavljenih hipotez se je v okviru izbranega vzorca šole, dijakov in učiteljev potrdila, kar daje vedeti, da je koristna predvsem iz vidika povezovanja različnih kultur oziroma narodnosti. Ta model v okviru izobraževalnega procesa vzgojno deluje na mlade ljudi in jih uči strpnosti in sožitja ne glede na narodnostno, versko ali kako drugo pripadnost. Pomemben prispevek se v dvojezičnem modelu kaže predvsem v možnostih usvajanja različnih znanj v maternem jeziku in s tem omogoča tudi pripadnikom madžarske manjšine, da se uspešno vključujejo v izobraževalne in družbene procese.

Title:THE ROLE OF EDUCATION IN THE PRESERVATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF ETHNIC MINORITY IN THE BILINGUAL ENVIRONMENT OF PREKMURJE
Abstract:Prekmurje is a region that is both historical and cultural very varied as it is the junction of different cultures, among which are the Slovene, Hungarian and Croatian culture. Because of historical reasons and because of the numerousness of the ethnic minority the need for bilingualism appeared. The constitution of the Republic of Slovenia defines in Article 11 of General Provisions that besides Slovene, in the regions where the Hungarian national community lives, the official language is also Hungarian. Bilingualism is present in all fields of social life; since 1959/60 also in the field of education. Bilingualism should not only be performed in the field of bilingual lessons but also in the field of bilingual textbooks, adding chapters on Hungarian history, co-operation with Hungarian schools and also outside of education, for example in the media and in local office activities. In the theoretical part of this thesis bilingualism and the idea of the bilingual education model while preserving and developing the ethnic minority are defined. In the empiric part the real situation of the bilingual education model at secondary school by using and analysing a questionnaire is presented. Regarding the set hypothesis our point of view about the bilingual education model as a factor of bringing students of both nationalities closer was confirmed as well as the point of view that such a model means a higher possibility of occupation in the home town. Most of the set hypothesis was confirmed in the frame of the chosen sample of school, students and teachers, which shows that it is useful above all from the viewpoint of connecting different cultures or nationalities. This model in the frame of the educational process is effecting pedagogically on young people and teaches them tolerance and living together irrespective of national, religious or any other affiliation. An important contribution of the bilingual model are above all the possibilities of adopting different knowledge in one's mother tongue and that way enables all members of the Hungarian minority to include successfully into educational and social processes.
