Abstract:Diplomsko delo govori o merilniku, ki je sposoben izmeriti električni tok z optičnimi vlakni na osnovi nizkokoherenčnega interferometra. Merilnik je izdelan iz dveh interferometrov, senzorskega in merilnega. Prvemu se spreminja optična pot zaradi gretja vlakna, kot posledica Joulskih izgub, ki povzročijo spremembo geometrije in optičnih lastnosti, drugemu pa mehansko spreminjamo geometrijo. Iz znane mehanske deformacije izračunamo vrednost merjenega električnega toka. V delu so predstavljeni cilji naloge, kratka raziskava že izdelanih sistemov, opis posameznih segmentov sistema, predstavljeni so razlogi za izbiro posameznih elementov in njihova vloga v sistemu, na koncu so predstavljeni še rezultati in podanih je tudi nekaj možnih izboljšav in nadgradenj.

Title:CURRENT SENSOR BASED ON LOW-COHERENT INTERFEROMETER
Abstract:Document describes a current sensor based on low-coherent interferometer. The sensor is made of two interferometers. In the first the optical path is altered due to Jouls heat dissipation which changes the geometry and optical properties of the fiber. The geometry optical path in the second is altered mechanically. From the known mechanical deformation we calculate the value of the measured electrical current. The study presents the aims of the project, a brief survey of pre-made systems, descriptions of individual segments of the system, presents the reasons for the selection of individual elements and their role in the system, and finally presents the results and some possible improvements and upgrades.
