Title:Vpliv tretiranja s Kelpak ekstraktom na morfološke in biokemijske značilnosti potaknjencev visečih pelargonij

Abstract:Specializirani pridelovalci okrasnih rastlin se pri razmnoževanju pelargonij poslužujejo vegetativnega razmnoževanja s stebelnimi potaknjenci. Za terminsko načrtovano pridelavo si prizadevajo izboljšati delež in skrajšati čas ukoreninjena. Pri tem si pomagajo z rastnimi regulatorji, ki pospešujejo ukoreninjenje potaknjencev. Kelpak je naraven ekstrakt iz rjavih morskih alg, ki ga zaradi visoke vsebnosti indol-3-maslene kisline in kinetina uvrščamo med rastne regulatorje. Številni avtorji poročajo o pozitivnem učinku Kelpaka na zakoreninjenje, rast in razvoj okrasnih rastlin, zelenjadnic, poljščin in drevnin. V diplomski nalogi smo potaknjence visečih pelargonij (Pelargonium peltatum L'HÉRIT. 'Ville de Paris Red') pred potikanjem v multiplošče (2. 4. 2010) tretirali z različnimi koncentracijami vodne raztopine Kelpaka, da bi ugotovili vpliv tretiranja na morfološke in biokemijske značilnosti visečih pelargonij do faze tržne zrelosti. Kelpak smo ponovno talno aplicirali po treh tednih, in sicer pred sajenjem v lončke. Tretiranje z vodno raztopino Kelpaka je imelo pozitiven učinek na razvoj nadzemnega in podzemnega dela pelargonij, tako v prvih treh tednih po inicialnem tretiranju kot tudi po kasnejšem terminu ponovnega tretiranja (24. 4. 2008). Pri četrtem vzorčnem terminu (12. 6. 2008) smo zasledili statistično signifikantno prirast mase rastlin pri 1 % vodni raztopini Kelpaka. Tudi pri prirastu mase korenin smo statistično signifikantne razlike izmerili pri četrtem vzorčnem terminu, in sicer prav tako pri 1 % vodni raztopini Kelpaka. Signifikantno povečanje števila listov smo prešteli tako pri tretjem (7. 5. 2008) kot pri četrtem vzorčnem terminu pri 2 % raztopini Kelpaka. Z analizo vsebnosti skupnih proteinov smo pri drugem vzorčnem terminu (24. 4. 2008) določili signifikantno povečanje skupnih proteinov pri 2 % vodni raztopini Kelpaka. Statistično signifikantne razlike v vsebnosti skupnih fenolov pa smo izmerili pri prvem vzorčnem terminu (2. 4. 2008) pri 1 % vodni raztopini Kelpaka v primerjavi s kontrolnimi rastlinami.

Title:Influence of Kelpak extract treatment on morphological and biochemical characteristics of pending pelargoniums
Abstract:Professional ornamental growers need to deliver large quantities of healthy and attractive plants to retailers on certain periods of the year when the demand of the consumers is very high The growers multiply the plants vegetatively, using stalk cuttings. They endeavour to shorten the growth period, and thus obtaning the plants ready for the market earlier. This can be done by growth regulators such as Kelpak which speeds up the rooting process of cuttings. Kelpak is a natural extract of the brown sea algae and is classified as a growth regulator due to a high content of the indole-3-butyric acid and kinetin. Many authors have reported the positive effects of this growth regulator on rooting, growth and development of various ornamental and agricultural plants. In the presented experiment, the cuttings of the pending pelargoniums (Pelargonium peltatum L'HÉRIT 'Ville de Paris Red') were treated with different concentrations of Kelpak aqueous solutions. The treatments took place before placing placing the cuttings into multiplates (2. 4. 2008). The main objective was to study the influence of different concentrations of Kelpek on morphological and biochemical characteristics of the pending pelargoniums, up to the phase when the plants were ready for the market. Treating with Kelpak aqueous solutions had positive effects on the the pelargonium above and underground organs. In the fourth sampling date (12. 6. 2008), we noticed a significant increase of weight of plants treated with 1 % concentration (of Kelpak aqueous solution). In the third (7. 5. 2008) and the fourth sampling date (12. 6. 2008), we also documented a significant increase of leaf number of plants treated with 2 % concetration of Kelpak. In the second sampling date (24. 4. 2008) we determined a significant increase of the total protein content on plants treated with 2 % Kelpak. In the first sampling date (2. 4. 2008), we also documented significant differences in total phenolics of the treated plants.
