Title:Shipping activity and transit procedure
Abstract:By joining the European Union, Slovenia took over commitments and responsibilities for customs because of European regulations that came with the accession. Slovenia started to perform a new computerized transit procedure NCTS – a modern, fast and effective management of goods transit. To enable all this, shipping activity had to adjust and develop into modern logistics. In the first part this work shows logistic shipping activity and its significance in today’s commodities market. Hereinafter follows the introduction of transit procedure, its importance and development. Above all the new computerized transit procedure is defined – the NCTS, that is based on the use of modern computer systems and computer exchange of messages. In the last part, the operation of the NCTS programme in practice is shown. The whole procedures, data input, commands and their meaning are presented – all this on example of departure customs office, extension Obrežje.
