Language: English NUMERICAL CALCULATION OF THE FLOW IN THE INLET PART OF PELTON TURBINE This diploma thesis presents the numerical calculation of the flow in the inlet part of a two jet Pelton turbine. The calculation was performed by Ansys CFX-12.1 computer code for three openings and different grid density. The purpose of the analysis was to determine the thickness, velocity and the quality of the jet at the runner inlet. A detailed analysis of an influence of grid density on results is also presented in the thesis. Pelton turbine, turbulent models, finite volume method, twophase homogeneous flow model.
