Abstract:Ljudska glasba je pomemben del narodove kulturne dediščine.

Title:THE KNOWLEDGE OF FOLK SONGS AND INSTRUMENTS OF PUPILS FROM THE FOURTH GRADE AND FUTURE TEACHERS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL EDUCATION
Abstract:Folk songs are an important part of a nation’s cultural heritage. They are also an important part and factor in the study plan of music lessons for primary school education as it offers the teachers a variety of possibilities on how to introduce their content to the pupils with the goal to strengthen their national awareness and at the same time keep the traditions alive. The purpose of the diploma work was to introduce the folk song and instruments and find out how familiar these songs and instruments are to children and future teachers of primary school education and where they can acquire this knowledge. 120 pupils of the fourth grade and 100 final year students of primary school education were included in the research. When researching a descriptive and causal not yet experimented method of empirical pedagogical research work were used. The results were gathered with the help of questionnaires. The results of the research showed that the majority of pupils and students like folk music, but the knowledge of the students is a bit better because of their longer studies and experiences. When it comes to preserving folk traditions the school turns out to be the key factor with its emphasis on folk songs. In research the conclusion was made that the weak areas were the student’s knowledge of the instruments often shown to then just through photographs and the fact that these kinds of dance contents were rarely included in lessons.
