Title:THE PLAY IS THE MAIN ACTIVITY OF PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN
Abstract:Children's play is an activity which comes from an inside motivation of a child. Without it it would not been a happy childhood. Every child has a right to play. Children do not play for a purpose to develope their abilities or to do a valuable thing. They play for a reason to satisfy their inner need (Toličič, 1981, page 9). We have decided to write a diploma work with a title Play is the main activity for pre-school children, because we believe that a child developes, learns and prepares for further life through a game. In the first part we have focused on the word PLAY. We are acquainted with a fact that every child has to play not only for a purpose that this is the typical activity of a healthy child but because play developes their creativity. Every child has a right to play and nobody, really nobody must not take away the play from a child or to endanger however this magnificent right – the right of a free choice of a play. A very important role here takes adults, those who educate and prepare themselves to this responsible work with children. We have the possibility to assure a child nice childhood, because it is an unrepeated moment in a life of every person. The childhood will end very fast, only memories will stay. We have a duty to help a child to have those memories as nice as they can be. But how? The answer itself is hidden in the word PLAY. Respect the child's play and give him the best conditions. In the second part we have focused on a word TOY which is related to the word play. The toy gives the content and the idea to the play. It is the child's companion, co-player, friend and of course a substitute for mother's arms. With an appropriate metodology we have established that the play is very important for a pre-school child and that the child learns and developes all-round through the play.
