Abstract:Ženske revije veljajo za lahkoten žanr, ki se je v zadnjem času zelo razširil. Zanje je značilno, da bralke obravnavajo kot potrošnice in s svojimi idealiziranimi podobami žensk na naslovnicah zbujajo pri bralkah negativen odnos do svojega telesa ter jih silijo, da ga vedno znova izpopolnjujejo. V diplomski nalogi smo preučili: kaj so ženske revije, katere so njihove značilnosti, razvoj ženskih revij na Slovenskem ter njihovo ciljno publiko. Posvetili smo se grafični podobi naslovnic ženskih revij ter podobi žensk na naslovnicah. Analizirali ter primerjali smo dve, na slovenskem zelo znani ženski reviji Našo ženo ter Cosmopolitan. Pozornost smo posvetili analizi žensk na naslovnicah v smislu načina, kako so prikazane ter analizirali razlike v podobi žensk na naslovnicah Naše žene in Cosmopolitana.

Title:IMAGE OF WOMEN ON WOMEN'S MAGAZINES COVERS
Abstract:Women's magazines are known as a genre that is “easy to read” which had become very popular recently. General characteristic for the genre is that it treats the reader as a consumer, showcasing idealized female bodies on its covers and so by shaking female reader self-esteem to the point when she is desperately trying to find a flaw on her own body and fixing it. In this diploma paper we have studied what is that women's magazines actually represent their main characteristics, the development of women’s magazines in Slovenia and their audiences. The focal point of our research was the cover image of women’s magazines and the image of the woman on that cover. We have analyzed and compared two very well known women magazines in Slovenia, Naša žena and Cosmopolitan. Our analysis revolved around two questions that have been raised: are women on the cover being shown equally in both magazines, if not, where are the differences.
