Abstract:Za delo na letališču so značilne prometne konice.

Title:BURNOUT IN THE OPERATIONAL DEPARTMENTS AT THE AIRPORT
Abstract:It is a characteristic of work at an airport that it has peak hours. The highest number of airplanes and passengers is handled from June to September, and on a daily basis in the morning, at about 2 pm and in the evening. Because of these peak hours the employees are subjected to burnout as the working process continues every day including weekends and holidays. We would like to establish the degree of burnout in the Airport technology department, Traffic coordination department, Ground operations department, Passenger handling department, Security and safety department, Technical fire protection department and Aviation suplly services department at Aerodrom Ljubljana, d.d. Burnout can be described as a chronic condition of ultimate psycho-physical and emotional exhaustion. People who are subjected to job burnout gradually lose the feeling of personal accomplishment, success and effectiveness. They become less and less motivated, experience high stress and often suffer also from depression. As a result of job burnout the employees often have a cynical relation to co-workers and customers and behave in a non-personal and dismissive way. They show a certain level of disregard for the customers and become more and more inefficient. As a result of job burnout the employees are often late for work, they tend to be chronically absent from work or they leave the company (Inštitut Burnout, 2006).
