Title:JEZIKOVNA KOPEL PRI MATEMATIKI V 2. RAZREDU DEVETLETNE OSNOVNE ŠOLE

Abstract:Diplomska naloga Jezikovna kopel v 2. razredu devetletne osnovne šole zajema projektno učno uro matematike v drugem razredu z eno izmed novejših oblik poučevanja tujih jezikov- jezikovno kopeljo (v zadnjem času se uveljavlja termin CLIL, ang. Content and Integrated Language Learning). V prvem, teoretičnem delu so predstavljena jezikoslovna, pedagoška, psihološka in didaktična izhodišča poučevanja in učenja tujega jezika. Podrobneje je opisan sodoben pristop — t.i. jezikovna kopel oz. CLIL, ter teoretičen vpogled v sestavo učnega projekta. V drugem, praktičnem delu je predstavljen opis poteka učnega projekta, kjer sem na slovenski osnovni šoli poučevala matematiko v angleščini in sicer v 2. razredu. Projekt se je izkazal za drugačen, učencem zanimivejši način učenja učnih vsebin (npr. matematike). Sredstvo komunikacije in različne dejavnosti in aktivnosti so jih pritegnile in navdušile tako, da so učence zanimale ne samo vsebine, temveč so bili motivirani tudi za pridobitev znanja iz tujega jezika.

Title:IMMERSION IN MATHEMATICS IN THE 2. GRADE OF THE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Abstract:The diploma thesis with the title Immersion in Mathematics in the Second Class of the Primary School includes the project work of teaching mathematics in the 2nd class of the primary school with the help of one of the contemporary approaches of foreign language teaching, called immersion (recently the term CLIL is being used, or Content and Language Integrated Learning). The first, theoretical part presents linguistic, pedagogical, psychological and methodological issues of teaching and learning a foreign language. It specifically describes the modern approach - called immersion or CLIL, as well as theoretical introductions into the project work. The second, practical part presents a description of the project work, where I taught mathematics in English in the second class of the Slovenian primary school. The project has been accepted as a different, interesting way to learn curricular contents (e.g. Mathematics). The means of communication and various activities attracted young learners not only for the content but they were also motivated to learn/acquire a foreign language.
