Abstract:Bolnišnične okužbe so zaplet hospitalizacije in danes predstavljajo v zdravstvu velik problem.

Title:THE EFFECT OF SOME NATURAL PRODUCTS ON POTENTIALLY PATHOGENIC BACTERIA ON HOSPITAL TEXTILES
Abstract:Nosocomial infections are hospital acquired infections that occur as a result of treatment in a hospital or a healthcare service unit, but secondary to the patient's original condition and are alarming in the 21st century. Infectious agents are microorganisms, most often antibiotic resistant potentially pathogenic bacteria.. Microorganisms are transmitted in hospitals by several routes, and the same microorganism may be transmitted by more than one route. One of the routes mostly neglected is transmission via hospital textiles. Therefore the main objective of the present work was to determine whether some naturally occuring products with claimed antimicrobial activity have antibacterial action on the most common bacteria found in hospital textiles. The results of antibiograms clearly showed that selected natural products did not kill bacteria as most of the potentially pathogenic bacteria were resistant or weakly sensitive to these products as compared to the conventional antibiotics.
