Abstract:V poskusu, izvedenem v letih 2007, 2008 in 2009 v Sadjarskem centru Gačnik smo preučevali vpliv mreže proti toči na razvoj škodljivcev in bolezni jablane (Malus domestica B.).

Title:EFFECT OF ANTI-HAIL NETS ON DEVELOPMENT OF PESTS AND DISEASES OF APPLES (Malus domestica B.)
Abstract:The influence of anti-hail net on the development of pests and diseases of apples (Malus domestica B.) was studied for three years (2007, 2008 and 2009) in the orchard of the Fruit Research Centre Maribor-Gačnik. By observing 'Braburn', 'Fuji' and 'Gala' apple trees covered by net and uncovered trees we have done a comparison on population density of the fallowing pests and diseases: green apple aphid, European red mite, codling moth, apple powdery mildew and apple scab. When observing populations of green apple aphid no differences in population densities were observed at net-covered or uncovered trees. In year 2008, the populations of red spider mite were greater on uncovered Gala trees. In years 2007 and 2009 at all three studied cultivars populations of the red spider mite were not statistically different between covered and uncovered trees. Use of net also did not influence significantly the number of aphid and red spider mite winter eggs attached to apple branches and the rate of fruits attacked by codling moth. Significantly less butterflies of codling moth were cot at pheromone traps placed on net-covered trees than at those positioned at uncovered trees. The severity of apple scab and powdery mildew on sprout and fruits of trees grown under net was not higher than in case of uncovered trees. According to the results of our study we can conclude that the use of anti-hail nets dose not influence significantly the development of studied apple pests and diseases.
