Abstract:POVZETEK IN KLJUČNE BESEDE Diplomska naloga je razdeljena na teoretični in empirični del. Za pouk predmeta nauk o glasbi v 1., 2., 3. in 4. razredu so bili predstavljeni učbeniki Mali glasbeniki avtoric Brigite Tornič Milharčič, Karmen Širca Costantini in Eve Kozlevčar.

Title:CHOSEN LITERATURE FOR THE ASSIMILATION OF MUSICAL THEORETICAL PRINCIPLES AT THE MUSIC-THEORY LESSONS
Abstract:ABSTRACT AND KEYWORDS The Thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part provides a short review of the music education development in Slovenia from the 19th century until the formation of the Academy of music. Afterwards the teaching goals of the educational program Music, formed by the National commission for modernisation of music education, are described. The purpose of the Thesis is to research and present a review of literature, suitable for Music theory classes. It refers to the literature, which contains elements for a qualitative educational process. The handbooks “Mali glasbeniki” for Music theory lessons in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade, written by Brigita Tornič Milharčič, Karmen Širca Costantini and Eva Kozlevčar, were presented. Included is all the teaching material, foreseen in the educational programme teaching plan for the subject Music. As additional handbooks the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th volume of the book “Nauk o glasbi” by Tomaž Habe, are stated. It is suggested that teachers should use textbooks, chosen by their own judgment, because the course and content of the teaching material does not answer the expectations of the new teaching plan. The workbooks “Veselo do glasbe” by Alenka Peric are designed for teachers and pupils in music schools, especially as means of vertical connection of teaching themes and as methodical manuals. The workbooks do not include all the Music theory subject fields, discussed in the first four grades, they only discuss theoretical bases. Teachers link them with other fields. The collection of didactical songs “S pesmijo do znanja” by Hermina Jakopič discusses music terms and contents, which pupils successfully gain through songs and they can use them latter doing other tasks. Song learning can be a part of the teaching programme or be a singing material, to which the teacher can refer as discussing particular teaching material. Because textbooks “Mali glasbeniki” for the 5th and 6th grade have not been yet presented, the Thesis states the book “Osnove glasbene teorije” by Pavel Mihelčič in the modernized, complemented and extended version. The teacher supplements the teaching process as explaining theoretical bases with the handbooks by Mateja Debevc and Borivoj Popovič. The Thesis presents a detailed review of selected literature for gaining music theory bases and an opinion poll of teachers about the selected literature and the teaching material usage in Slovenian music schools.
