The potential of ai-driven assistants in scaled agile software development
Vasilka Saklamaeva, Luka Pavlič, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Scaled agile development approaches are now used widely in modern software engineering, allowing businesses to improve teamwork, productivity, and product quality. The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into scaled agile development methods (SADMs) has emerged as a potential strategy in response to the ongoing demand for simplified procedures and the increasing complexity of software projects. This paper explores the intersection of AI-driven assistants within the context of the scaled agile framework (SAFe) for large-scale software development, as it stands out as the most widely adopted framework. Our paper pursues three principal objectives: (1) an evaluation of the challenges and impediments encountered by organizations during the implementation of SADMs, (2) an assessment of the potential advantages stemming from the incorporation of AI in large-scale contexts, and (3) the compilation of aspects of SADMs that AI-driven assistants enhance. Through a comprehensive systematic literature review, we identified and described 18 distinct challenges that organizations confront. In the course of our research, we pinpointed seven benefits and five challenges associated with the implementation of AI in SADMs. These findings were systematically categorized based on their occurrence either within the development phase or the phases encompassing planning and control. Furthermore, we compiled a list of 15 different AI-driven assistants and tools, subjecting them to a more detailed examination, and employing them to address the challenges we uncovered during our research. One of the key takeaways from this paper is the exceptional versatility and effectiveness of AI-driven assistants, demonstrating their capability to tackle a broader spectrum of problems. In conclusion, this paper not only sheds light on the transformative potential of AI, but also provides invaluable insights for organizations aiming to enhance their agility and management capabilities.

Eva Podovšovnik, Tilen Smajla, 2022, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: This paper presents the results of an analysis of the attitudes of students of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security at the University of Maribor (FVV UM) towards the use of distance learning tools in their language for specific purposes (LSP) course. Our aim was to investigate the students' experience with LSP distance learning tools by focusing on the impact of different language teaching methods on the respondents' attitudes towards LSP distance learning tools, on the students' and professors' perceptions regarding the use of digital tools for online learning and the professors' ability to adapt their teaching methods to online learning. The results were as follows: there were no major differences in attitudes regarding the students' gender, the students have proven to have sufficient knowledge of the use of digital tools, the professors have proven to have sufficient knowledge of the use of digital tools and are able to adapt them accordingly, although the perceptions of students regarding the adaptations made by the professors differed significantly from those of the professors. Consequently, a more informed choice of teaching methods and approaches should be made that would ensure better learning outcomes also in the case of online teaching.

Digital tools in behavior change support education in health and other students : a systematic review
Lucija Gosak, Gregor Štiglic, Leona Cilar Budler, Isa B. Félix, Katja Braam, Nino Fijačko, Mara Pereira Guerreiro, Mateja Lorber, 2022, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Due to the increased prevalence of chronic diseases, behavior changes are integral to self-management. Healthcare and other professionals are expected to support these behavior changes, and therefore, undergraduate students should receive up-to-date and evidence-based training in this respect. Our work aims to review the outcomes of digital tools in behavior change support education. A secondary aim was to examine existing instruments to assess the effectiveness of these tools. A PIO (population/problem, intervention, outcome) research question led our literature search. The population was limited to students in nursing, sports sciences, and pharmacy; the interventions were limited to digital teaching tools; and the outcomes consisted of knowledge, motivation, and competencies. A systematic literature review was performed in the PubMed, CINAHL, MEDLINE, Web of Science, SAGE, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases and by backward citation searching. We used PRISMA guidelines 2020 to depict the search process for relevant literature. Two authors evaluated included studies using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool (MMAT) independently. Using inclusion and exclusion criteria, we included 15 studies in the final analysis: six quantitative descriptive studies, two randomized studies, six mixed methods studies, and one qualitative study. According to the MMAT, all studies were suitable for further analysis in terms of quality. The studies resorted to various digital tools to improve students’ knowledge of behavior change techniques in individuals with chronic disease, leading to greater self-confidence, better cooperation, and practical experience and skills. The most common limitations that have been perceived for using these tools are time and space constraints.

A review of energy-efficient and sustainable construction scheduling supported with optimization tools
Borna Dasović, Uroš Klanšek, 2022, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: This article reviews the accomplishments of studies in which optimization tools were used to develop energy-efficient and sustainable construction schedules. With the increase in global awareness of environmental issues, the construction industry has been forced to explore innovative techniques to make the building process more energy-efficient and sustainable. Project managers can use optimization tools in their scheduling procedures to address these issues in the early stages of the project. Therefore, this paper examines different optimization-based construction scheduling methods and their impact on schedule energy efficiency and the three key sustainability goals: economic viability, social equity, and environmental protection. Such a review has not yet been conducted to the best of our knowledge. This research aims to fill the gap and contribute to understanding advanced optimization tools that can pave the way to energy-efficient and sustainable scheduling practices. After a brief introduction, the background of optimization-based construction scheduling techniques that aim to improve construction management and incorporate these aspects into the decision-making process is explained. Then, these approaches are addressed in detail. It is determined for each study whether it adopted energy efficiency goals and which sustainability dimensions it considered within the proposed optimization model. The results of this study indicate a wide heuristic algorithms application for complex scheduling problems. Meanwhile, mathematical programming is still quite unexplored, especially methods that utilize algebraic modeling languages. This study provides a foundation for further research by addressing the current reach in development and possible knowledge gaps that could be researched in future studies. The paper also discusses the advantages and limitations of different approaches and illustrates the potential for utilizing these methods. Supported by the main review findings, conclusions and recommendations for further research are provided.

JCOP OS patching and counter signing tools extension
Dalibor Tadić, 2018, diplomsko delo

Opis: In the bachelor’s thesis, we developed and expanded tools for patching and countersigning a document. In the beginning, we made certain questions and then created a schematic representation with clear details of all the processes that are implemented. The bachelor’s thesis represents the development of a new extension of the existing tools. Each of these tools has its purpose to get to the countdown process, which we had to implement. Chips that are located on various devices (mobile devices, tablets, credit cards, etc.) need updates from time to time. However, since there is a need for the very high level of confidentiality, all the operations that could change functionality must be signed by a reliable authority. The primary purpose of these tools and the encoding capability is that the NXP does not issue updates on chips that are already in use without the knowledge of the customer. This ensures that only valid and certified updates are installed, of which the customer knows and have confirmed them with the signature. All the tools were developed in the integrated development environment of Eclipse Neon and written in the Java programming language. The final version of the tools meets the foreseen conditions that were set at the beginning of the thesis. Similarly, unit testing has shown that the functionality of these tools is correct.

Understanding management concepts through development of their tool box : the case of total quality management
Marek Ćwiklicki, 2016, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper offers an alternative approach to defining the management concept. The proposed methodology relies on the identification of tools supporting the given concept. The author assumed that the identification of tools’ evolution gives clearer insights into circumstances of constant development of—by its nature—a more general concept. The tools’ classification resembles a phylogenic tree and is based on the idea of an affinity diagram. To provide the proof for such reasoning, the total quality management (TQM) concept was chosen. This proposition can be useful for better understanding origins and the development of management thought. It clarifies relationships among methods constituting frameworks of quality management.
