Tracking stock

Opis: Tracking stock so posebna vrsta delnic, ki so razvite oziroma razširjene predvsem v Združenih državah Amerike, pri nas ta vrsta delnic ni poznana. Delnice predstavljajo določen obrat družbe ali hčerinsko družbo. Te vrste delnic omogočajo upravi, da obdrži nadzor nad posameznim obratom ali hčerinsko družbo. Če družba izda tracking stock, lahko odloča med prodajo na trgu (to je, prek začetne javne ponudba ali IPO) ali za distribucijo novih delnic obstoječim delničarjem. Imetniki tracking stock nimajo enakih pravic kot imetniki navadnih delnic oziroma delničarji, ki imajo v lasti delnice matične družbe. Za razliko od navadnih delnic ali delnic z glasovalno pravico vsebujejo tracking stock zgolj ½ ali ¼ pravico do glasovanja, v nekaterih primerih pa sploh ne vsebujejo glasovalne pravice. Najbolj priljubljena tracking stock v Združenih državah Amerike je QQQQ, katera kotira na trgu skladov in odraža donose Nasdaq 100 index. Druga najbolj znana tracking stock je Standard & Poor's (SPDRs), ki zrcali vrnitev S & P 500 index na trg vrednostnih papirjev.

Numerical simulation of dilute particle laden flows by wavelet BEM-FEM

Opis: A wavelet transform based BEM and FEM numerical scheme was used to simulate laminar viscous flow. The velocity-vorticity formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations was used. The flow simulation algorithm was coupled with a Lagrangian particle tracking scheme for dilute suspensions of massless particles and particles without inertia. The proposed numerical approach was used to simulate flow and particle paths for two test cases: flow over a backward-facing step and flow past a circular cylinder. We present methods of calculating the pressure and stream function field at the end of each time step. The pressure field was used to calculate drag and lift coefficients, which enable qualitative comparison of our results with the benchmark. The stream function enabled the comparison of streamlines and massless particle paths in steady state low Reynolds number value flow fields, and thus provided an estimate on the accuracy of the particle tracking algorithm. Unsteady higher Reynolds number value flows were investigated in terms of particle distributions in vortex streets in the wake of the cylinder and behind the step. Sedimentation of particles without inertia was studied in the flow field behind a backward-facing step at Reynolds number value 5000.

Eye tracking študija smeri pogledov voznikov na ravnih cestah in njihova povezanost s prometnimi nesrečami

Opis: V tem magistrskem delu je predstavljena eye tracking študija smeri pogledov voznikov na ravnih cestah in njihova povezanost s prometnimi nesrečami. Celotno delo temelji na eye tracking posnetkih, pridobljenih s Tobii Pro očali, ki so nastali med vožnjo prostovoljcev v realnem prometu. Posnetke smo analizirali in zbrali statistike pogledov z ravnejših odsekov cest. Analiza prometnih nesreč v zadnjem desetletju v Sloveniji je bila osnova za povezavo med podatki o pogledih in prometnih nesrečah, natančneje naletnih trčenjih. Med drugim smo ugotovili, da kljub veliki razpršenosti fiksacij pogledov voznikov to ni predstavljalo zadostne gotovosti za sklep o negativnem vplivu razpršenosti pogledov na naletna trčenja. Drugi del naše študije predstavlja analiza intervjujev sodelujočih voznikov. Iz njihovih odgovorov in naših lastnih izkušenj smo oblikovali mnenje o primernosti uporabe te eye tracking tehnologije za podobne raziskave in zviševanje prometne varnosti. Ugotovili smo, da je zelo primerna. Če povzamemo: te tri analize, poleg pregleda osnovne teorije o vidu, premikih oči in vizualni pozornosti, ter pregleda eye tracking tehnologije na splošno, predstavljajo delo, ki je bilo opravljeno za to magistrsko delo.

Lagrangian particle tracking in velocity-vorticity resolved viscous flows by subdomain BEM

Opis: A numerical study of particle motion in a cubic lid driven cavity is presented. As a computational tool, a boundary element based flow solver with a Lagrangian particle tracking algorithm is derived. Flow simulations were performed using an in-house boundary element based 3D viscous flow solver. The Lagrangian particle tracking algorithm is capable of simulation of dilute suspensions of particles in viscous flows taking into account gravity, buoyancy, drag, pressure gradient and added mass. The derived algorithm is used to simulate particle behaviour in a cellular flow field and in a lid driven cavity flow. Simulations of particle movement in a cellular flow field were used to validate the algorithm. The main goal of the paper was to numerically simulate the flow behaviour of spheres of different densities and different diameters, as experimentally observed in work of Tsorng et al.The study of slightly buoyant and non-buoyant particles in a lid driven cavity was aimed at discovering cases when particles leave the primary vortex and enter into secondary vortices, a phenomenon described in the work of Tsorng et al. A parametric study of this phenomenon was preformed. The presented computational results show excellent agreement with experiments, confirming the accuracy of the developed computational method.

The Importance of the First Impression and the use of Gestalt Principles of Visaul Design while visiting Web Sites on Mobile Phone

Opis: This paper introduces an overview of the first impression on web regarding visual design in connection with user’s opinion. The definition of the first impression is explained as well as its importance. Visual design plays an important role whether website creates good or bad first impression. Gestalt principles of visual design are presented with given website examples. To confirm connection between the first impression and gestalt principles of design, eye-tracking study was performed. Successfully completed analysis was completed with 15 participants. Visual appearance plays an important role in evaluation but it is not the only factor. It is confirmed that out of four websites, the one using the more gestalt principles was at the final individual evaluation assessed the best. It is proven that also the manner of the information provided plays a significant role.

Development of the Waterproof Enclosure for Tracking System PitStop

Opis: The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species classifies six out of seven species of sea turtle as Threatened. Different tagging systems are being used to better protect and conserve the sea turtles and their habitats with the data gathered being essential to design better conservation strategies. Tagging sea turtles can be quite expensive using the proprietary commercial tags. The aim of this project was to develop a reliable and affordable tracking system PitStop for monitoring threatened sea turtles. Different designs, materials and sealing methods were proposed and tested to find the optimal solution considering the performance, reliability and costs.
