Automatic S-phase arrival identification for local earthquakes

Opis: In the case of a strong local earthquake, a quick report about the earthquake’s location is expected. Such reports are usually performed automatically, where the identification of the seismic-phase arrival of the various seismic waves on the seismogram is the most important task. For this purpose, numerous detecting methods for the first P-wave arrival identification and determination are used. But in some cases, where the number of seismic stations in a local seismic network is very small, an automatic reading of the S-wave arrival is required. An algorithm for the automatic picking of the S wave arrival from three-component seismic data has been developed. Three parameters of the signal are calculated from these data and the S phase arrival is declared when the product of the three parameters increases above a reference level. Such a so-called S-phase picker is used to automatically analyze the data from local earthquakes in Slovenia's seismic network.

Model of traffic access mode and railway station choice of suburban railway system in Slovenia

Opis: This article presents the establishment of a model of understanding the access mode and railway station choice of Slovenian passengers. Therefore, a model has been designed to predict the determination of existing decision making preferences of railway users about the access mode and railway station choice with a stated preference survey and face to face method. The target group in the survey were railway passengers in the suburban environment that use the rail for work and school purposes. The total number of respondents was 412. The survey showed that most passengers access the railway station with car (60,2%), by foot (26,2%), with public transport (bus – 8,3%) and with bike (5,3%). Average distance to the station is 4,9 km, average time of access is 10,5 min. Upon exit most passengers walk to the final destination (84,5%), use the public transport (bus – 14,1%), car (1,2%) or bike (0,2%). Average time from exit of the train to final destination is 13,1 min, average distance is 1,58 km.

Modelling medium access control in IEEE 802.15.4 nonbeacon-enabled networks with probabilistic timed automata

Opis: This paper concerns the formal modelling of medium access control in nonbeacon-enabled IEEE 802.15.4 wireless personal area networks with probabilistic timed automata supported by the PRISM probabilistic model checker. In these networks, the devices contend for the medium by executing an unslotted carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance algorithm. In the literature, a model of a network which consists of two stations sending data to two different destination stations is introduced. We have improved this model and, based on it, we propose two ways of modelling a network with an arbitrary number of sending stations, each having its own destination. We show that the same models are valid representations of a star-shaped network with an arbitrary number of stations which send data to the same destination station. We also propose how to model such a network if some of the sending stations are not within radio range of the others, i.e. if they are hidden. We present some results obtained for these models by probabilistic model checking using PRISM.

SIMULACIJA PROIZVODNEGA SISTEMA ROBOTSKE ROKE V POVEZAVI S STROJEM DOOSAN CNC V PROGRAMSKEM ORODJU ROBOTSTUDIO ABB

Opis: V diplomskem delu je predstavljena simulacija proizvodnega sistema robotske roke v povezavi z DOOSAN CNC strojem. Ideja je nastala zaradi želje po avtomatizirani proizvodnji. Za izdelavo simulacijskega modela avtomatizirane proizvodne celice se je uporabilo programsko orodje RobotStudio ABB. Treba je bilo vzpostaviti komunikacijo med DOOSAN CNC strojem in ABB robotom. To se naredi s pomočjo Station Logic, katerega naloga je, da povezuje signale virtualnega krmilnika s signali, ustvarjenimi v pametni komponenti. Virtualni krmilnik je povezan s programsko kodo (RAPID). Tako se lahko npr. senzorji, ustvarjeni v pametni komponenti, povežejo z delovanjem ABB robota in DOOSAN CNC stroja.

Project of central station in Podgorica

Opis: This Masterʼs Dissertation proffered the idea of designing a central station in Podgorica. The idea was to create a facility that would be functional, connect urban sectors and become a landmark of the city. Podgorica is a rapidly developing city and it needs a modern central station which would integrate bus and rail stations, provide faster and safer connection, together with additional content. In the latter regard there would be a complex incorporating an administrative block, a spa hotel with restaurant, a conference centre and a shopping area. The building would have free form with transparency regarding public spaces. The aim would be that the passengers would have control over the trains and buses in arrivals and departures. The base of the skyscraper would be an ellipse that rotate and thereby would have an interesting elegant form that would dominate the city.

Zbiranje podatkov na kraju prometne nesreče

Opis: Število vozil na cestah po svetu se nenehno povečuje, zaradi tega obstaja večja možnost nastanka prometnih nesreč. Ob teh dogodkih morajo preiskovalci pravi čas obiskati kraj dogodka in ga čim hitreje ter natančno zabeležiti. Zaprtje ceste lahko zaradi nastanka prometne nesreče in dela preiskovalcev povzroči precej stroškov, hkrati pa veliko nejevolje pri udeležencih v prometu. Ključnega pomena je prava izbira ter pravilna uporaba merilnih tehnik in orodij za zbiranje podatkov na kraju prometnih nesreč. V magistrski nalogi so predstavljene značilnosti prometnih nesreč in nekatera merilna orodja za tovrstne dogodke drugod po svetu. V raziskovalnem delu naloge so prikazane meritve, ki smo jih pridobili z elektronskim tahimetrom Image Station. Na podlagi simulacije prometne nesreče smo meritve primerjali s policijskimi ter prikazali odstopanja. Pripravili smo 3D model dogodka, izmerjene točke pa smo georeferencirali.

Muscular-skeletal diseases require scientifically designed sewing workstations

Opis: The paper describes the adjustment of the sewing workstation with respect to working postures and workers' perceptions based on the results of a survey research carried out in 32 sewing workstations in different garment production factories in Slovenia. Poor posture of the trunk, neck and upper extremities, and the monotonous repetitive movements result in a high prevalence of musculoskeletal complaints affecting back, neck and upper extremities among sewing machine operators. Several studies have confirmed that working postures are still a common problem in garment industry and ergonomically designed workstations can considerably reduce the above-mentioned problems. Therefore, the main purpose of the paper is to formulate all ergonomic recommendations for the modification of sewing machineworkstations.
