Importance of innovativeness in the selected company and the introduction of standards as the tools
Žiga Lesjak, 2023, master's thesis

Abstract: The master’s thesis provides a comprehensive investigation into the interplay of innovation management theory and standardization theory, with a particular emphasis on the ISO 9001 standard. The study is situated within the context of a technology enterprise, company X, offering an in-depth examination of the role of ISO 9001 standard implementation in enhancing the innovativeness and effectiveness of the company's marketing processes. It emphasises the transformative impacts of ISO 9001 standardization, including improved customer focus, process standardization, increased transparency, heightened team engagement, and enhanced risk management. The main purpose of this research is to demonstrate the successful integration of innovation theory with standardization, using company X as a model of best practice. The research further examines the transformation of the company's operations before and after the ISO 9001 standard implementation, highlighting a shift towards a more structured, customer-centric, and risk-aware approach to innovation. Lastly, an action plan to increase the innovative capacity of company X, aligned with ISO 9001 standards, is proposed.

S-shaped curve of phonological standardization : six surveys in the Tsuruoka and Yamazoe areas
Fumio Inoue, 2010, original scientific article

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the speed of linguistic change. If social variation is a reflection of linguistic change, the scene of the linguistic change can be caught in action as a palpable phenomenon. However there is one theoretical question, the distinction of “real time” and “apparent time”. In order to observe linguistic change repeated surveying is necessary. The tradition of Japanese dialectology provides us with several examples of repetitive surveys. The conclusion of the analysis is as follows. The curve of apparent-time change corresponds to that of real-time change. The total number of years necessary for a linguistic change to be completed is nearly 200 years.

Standardization of business decision-making
Vojko Potočan, 2000, original scientific article

Abstract: Enterprise as a business system (BS) assures its own existence and development by a high quality of its business. Its business results can be considerably improved, if the BS creates its system of the standard decision-making processes (DM), which provides for a high quality of business DM and its methodological uniformity in different BS's. Within the standardisation, we establish both a standardised research methodology and a standardisation of contents, and develop a system of standardised DM processes in the BS. We uniform the DM by both a holistic methodological and a partial contents standardisation. We define it on the basis of our holistic investigation into it, which includes the institutional, functional, and factors aspects. These factors are defined and distributed in the fields of DM and both the general and the special standard systems of DM factors are developed. We study the DM process thoroughly, while the acquired knowledge on the process is formalised and developed into a cybernetic model. A general system of DM and its corresponding model is created in order to provide for the requisite holism and complexity of DM, as well as the uniformity of its consideration. The selected problem is solved when we complete the standardisation of the DM, which includes the conception of the standard methodology, its application and the development of its standardised manner.
