Razvoj sistema za obdelavo slik z oblačnimi storitvami

Opis: Diplomsko delo opisuje razvoj spletne aplikacije za obdelavo slik v oblaku z uporabo tehnologij AWS in Next.js. Sistem temelji na brezstrežniški arhitekturi, kjer ključne funkcionalnosti izvajajo storitve AWS, kot so Lambda, S3, DynamoDB in ECR. Za avtentikacijo uporabnikov se uporablja Clerk, medtem ko je za obdelavo slik implementirana lastna rešitev v okolju Docker. Poseben poudarek je na večplatformski funkcionalnosti, razširljivosti in enostavni uporabi sistema, ki omogoča shranjevanje, obdelavo in prikazovanje naloženih slik na učinkovit način. V okviru testiranja je bilo ugotovljeno, da ima med parametri obdelave največji vpliv na čas obdelovanja ločljivost slik. Pri simulaciji sočasnih nalaganj se je ta čas predvidljivo povečeval s številom uporabnikov, vendar je sistem kljub obremenitvam ohranil stabilno in zanesljivo delovanje.

Aligning business solutions and business requirements for digital transformation – case research : V.

Opis: This study explores how Business and IT Alignment (BITA) influences business performance (PERFO) and corporate sustainability (SPACS) using a mixed-methods case study of an international manufacturing enterprise. The quantitative analysis (PLS-SEM) indicated BITA affects PERFO indirectly through IT service quality (ITSQ), while remote work (EWORK), despite its relation to BITA, showed no significant impact. BITA strongly predicted SPACS by enhancing employees’ sustainability knowledge, confidence, and willingness to act. Qualitative findings from semi-structured interviews revealed a BITA maturity of 3.3 (on a 5-point scale), highlighting its role in sustainability via better decision-making, process optimization, and IT-enabled transparency. Notable discrepancies between managerial and employee perceptions of BITA maturity were identified. Results suggest successful BITA fosters sustainability-oriented behaviour and IT-driven performance improvements, though continuous reinforcement within organizations is required. The study emphasizes the value of integrating qualitative and quantitative methods for comprehensive insights into BITA's impact.

The impact of the teacher education study program on the development of TPACK

Opis: This study compares students’ TPACK at the beginning and at the end of their college education according to their involvement and the number of computer science courses. Research was conducted at the Faculty of Education in Osijek, Croatia, with the same generation of students, in 2015 (N=71) and 2020 (N=43). The results showed a statistically significant difference for Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge, for all students in the sample and for students with additional computer science courses. In the case of overall TPACK, there is no difference for the overall sample of students but for students with additional computer science courses, the difference is significant.

Assessing taxpayers’ satisfaction with tax administration e-services

Opis: As tax administrations worldwide modernize through digital technologies, it has become increasingly important to understand taxpayers’ satisfaction with these services. This research aims to estimate the relationships between satisfaction with tax administration e-services and factors such as trust, service quality, age, and gender, addressing a noted gap in the existing literature. Using the questionnaire distributed among taxpayers in Slovenia, four hypotheses were tested. Next to descriptive methods, Pearson correlation analysis, T-tests, and Mann-Whitney U-tests were used. The findings reveal a positive correlation between e-service quality and trust, as well as sustainability, but lower satisfaction with tax administration e-services among the younger generation. Gender differences do not exist, as male and female taxpayers are perceived to be equally satisfied with the e-service. The results suggest that improving tax information’s usability, clarity, and security increases taxpayers’ confidence and satisfaction. Quality information does not cause confusion and distrust. From the taxpayers’ perspective, it is essential to ensure accessible, easy-to-understand information and implement quick feedback mechanisms to enhance clarity and strengthen taxpayers’ trust.

The influence of benefits and trust on consumers’ attitudes towards artificial intelligence : the moderating role of threats

Opis: Background/Purpose This article explores consumers’ perception of the benefits of intelligent service robots (ISR) in the purchasing process, their trust in artificial intelligence (AI), their perception of AI-related threats, and the impact of these variables on consumer attitudes toward AI. Additionally, the study examines the moderating effect of perceived AI-related threats on the relationship between perceived benefits and trust on one side and the formation of consumer attitudes toward AI on the other. Methods The research was conducted in the first half of 2024 on a judgmental sample of 224 employed consumers in the Republic of Slovenia. Data were collected through a structured online questionnaire. For the empirical analysis, a non-parametric approach using SEM-PLS modelling was applied to examine relationships between the studied research constructs. Results The findings indicate that perceived benefits of ISR have a strong and positive impact on consumer attitudes toward AI, while perceived AI-related threats strongly and negatively influence these attitudes. Moreover, the results reveal that perceived AI-related threats significantly and negatively moderate the effect of consumers’ perceived trust in AI on the formation of their attitudes toward AI. Conclusion The results of this study contribute significantly to the theoretical understanding of employed consumers’ attitudes toward AI. They also provide practical implications for companies in developing predictive models of consumer behaviour and defining effective marketing strategies to encourage AI adoption in the purchasing process.

Artificial intelligence in travel agencies in Slovenia : 1st cycle professional bachelor's studies graduate thesis

Opis: Guided by the experience of how travel agencies operate and the significant expansion and success of artificial intelligence, an opportunity was seen to connect and explore these two areas. Many business processes in travel agencies are still outdated and monotonous, and can certainly be automated, such as data processing and analysis. Existing systems could be improved, and new ones could be introduced to enhance service quality and market competitiveness. The goal was to investigate how familiar travel agencies in Slovenia are with this technology, if travel agencies have experience with its use, and if integration of the technology into their operations is accepted. The current state of travel agencies in Slovenia and the steps needed for future progress are provided by this research. The focus is placed on the basics of artificial intelligence, travel agencies, and how they can function together. Field results were gathered by interviewing ten travel agencies in the Republic of Slovenia, providing a sample that aids further research. A SWOT analysis was conducted using all the obtained information to understand what artificial intelligence offers.

Analysis of Methodologies and Tools for Software Development in Different Architectures

Opis: In modern software development, three of the most popular application architectures are commonly used: monolithic, service-oriented, and microservices. At the same time, plenty of different methodologies, primarily agile ones, and tools are in use to plan and manage software projects. The research studies relations between these two entities to define the most popular and suitable methodologies and tools for projects, implementing each specific architecture. The research consists of 2 parts: qualitative and quantitative. The first one includes the study of the theoretical basis and related sources to find out the most popular modern methodologies and tools considering their characteristics and each specific architecture. Based on these characteristics, a definition of the most suitable ones is made. The second part represents preliminary statistical research among people, currently employed in software development companies about their opinions on the thematic. The second part includes 36 professionals, employed in different roles. In this part, descriptive statistics and correlation analysis are used. The results have some limitations related to the limited scope of literature studied and also to the size and representativeness of the sample. However, they are useful both for people working in software development, especially for leading personnel, making decisions about project management, and for researchers as a good starting point for continuing research. The results show the necessity of further investigation of the topic due to inconsistency between the scientific literature research and real business world research. Also, we have found out possible correlation between employees’ satisfaction and tools used in project management. Opis: Diplomsko delo obravnava računalništvo v oblaku s poudarkom na Amazon Web Services (AWS). Podrobno analizira storitvene modele in prednosti ter slabosti uporabe oblaka. Osredotoča se na implementacijo spletne aplikacije na AWS in pregledno predstavlja ključne storitve, kot so EC2, RDS in S3. S pomočjo primerjave s konkurenčnimi ponudniki in prakso prikazuje praktično uporabnost računalništva v oblaku.

Exploring pre-service and in-service teachers' perceptions about early foreign language learning and dyslexia

Opis: This contribution addresses Slovenian in-service and pre-service foreign language and general education teachers' awareness of dyslexia in the foreign language classroom. The authors examine and analyse the levels of familiarity with dyslexia among foreign language teachers and primary school teachers (in-service teachers) and foreign language students (pre-service teachers), their perceptiveness regarding the particularly demanding areas of language learning, and their willingness to engage in additional training to obtain the appropriate skills for teaching children with learning disabilities, particularly dyslexia. The results reveal noticeable differences in answers to individual research questions provided by the participants based on their profiles. The majority of participants stated that they were familiar with dyslexia from a theoretical point of view but also indicated that they were aware of the need to further improve their individual specialist-didactic knowledge and skills in order to give successful support to dyslexic pupils engaged in foreign language learning. The authors also predict the necessary extent of additional training measures in which foreign language teachers, primary school teachers, and foreign language students should engage.

In the search for the ideal mentor by applying the "Mentoring for effective teaching practice instrument"

Opis: The study aims to explore and analyse the perceived experiences of Slovenian pre-service teachers with their mentors during their teaching practicum, by using the "Mentoring for effective teaching practice instrument (METPI)". Conclusions were based on 105 responses using paper and pencil, collected from Slovenian preservice teachers in their 4th year of study. The initial set of 62 items was shortened to 36 items for inclusion in the models. From two concurrent SEM models, it was concluded that students found their experiences related to Hudson's five-factor model, consisting of personal attributes of their mentor, modelling, pedagogical knowledge, system requirements and feedback, to be satisfactory, while their experience pertaining to Information and Communication Technology as a new, additional factor with reference to their mentor, was unsatisfactory. Several recommendations are made related to the dimensions, especially pertaining to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools.
