The impact of digital technologies and digitalization on labour law : the case of Slovenia
Mitja Stefancic, Elizabeta Zirnstein, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Building on research focusing on the impact of digital technologies on the labour market, this paper provides an interpretation of major findings by reference to labour law in Slovenia. It is argued that the existing labour law in Slovenia does a reasonable job in dealing with the changes we are witnessing in digital economy. However, the problem is in the implementation of workers rights in practice. The workers are not taking action to enforce their legal rights as much as one could expect. In addition to this, employers do not put enough attention to the challenges that digitalisation brings in the field of health at work and in the field of workers% skills. Therefore, the Slovene government should embark upon a system of reforms to improve the promptness of courts in labour disputes. It should also appoint more labour inspectors. At the same time, employers should adopt practical solutions regarding the organisation of working process with aim to diminish the negative impacts of digitalisation on health at work. Furthermore, the employers should put more attention to the development of workers skills, especially those which, according to theory, will be crucial in the future.

Terrorism : social causes and perspectives
Renato Matić, Anita Dremel, Mateja Šakić, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Purpose: The aim of this paper is to analyze the origin of different interpretations of the events connected with terrorism, with special emphasis put on different interpretations of causes and consequences of terrorism. The objective is to show that the same logic has perpetrated the causes of the problem and is being used to solve it. Design/Methods/Approach: This research into the social causes of terrorism leans against a critical theoretical perspective and uses a historical comparative method aimed at deconstructing some taken-for-granted perspectives regarding terrorism and its actors. It brings the understanding of the causes of terrorism into connection with the history of mutual relationships between today's main actors of global terrorism and anti-terrorism in the wish to explain the consequences of terrorism as resulting from the stable and continued relationship between the main actors. Findings: The analysis has shown that current approaches to dealing with the problem of terrorism are so strikingly unsuccessful because, among other reasons, they rely on the same logic that led to the problem in the first place and thus cannot be used to solve the problem. Current power relations between the actors of “terrorism” and “anti-terrorism” point to the need for a possible alternative approach to preventing the mutually complementing “terrorist” and “anti-terrorism” violence. Originality/Value: The greatest value of this analysis is that it offers a view of the problem of terrorism based in the tradition of sociological theory, particularly that of deviance, serving thus as an important complement to more customary criminalist, criminological, psychological and legal perspectives. Without such historically grounded and sociologically informed approach, critical perspective would not be possible.

How public relations impact on a company's effectiveness
Damjana Jerman, Goran Vukovič, Bruno Završnik, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The role of public relations is dealing with the identification of organization's strategic public and developing communications programs for building solid, open and trusting relations with them. Many companies have taken a limited view of the impact that public relations can have on company's overall effectiveness. This paper consists of two parts: the theoretical framework for the role of public relations in the overall effectiveness of the company and an empirical analysis based on the primary data collected. We classified and analyzed different public relations factors (i.e. factors related to managing and implementing public relations) that influences the effectiveness of the company. We explored the correlation between public relations and a company's effectiveness and argued that public relations factors play a critical role in that effectiveness. We used linear regression and we found a significant linier relationship between the independent variable (public relations) and the dependent variable (company effectiveness).

Changes in responsibilities and tasks of universities in regional innovation ecosystems
Zoltán Birkner, Tivadar Máhr, Nora Berkes Rodek, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Innovation process research is changing. In addition to the former territorial approach (examining countries or regions), the description of innovation cooperation in local areas is becoming more and more accepted. Instead of the innovation ability of the traditional large enterprises, research has begun to study the role of small and medium-sized enterprises, non-governmental organizations, local governments, and educational institutions (especially universities), which foreshadows the development of a new innovation system. In 2015, we conducted a study focusing on the civil and corporate relations of a major university. We tried to determine the new directions based on the economic and social cooperation as well as to search for the practical implementation of the theoretical helixes in these interactions. We came to the conclusion that universities not only are determinative according to the triple helix model but also have a prominent role in the creation of new innovation ecosystems, particularly in a well-defined geographical area.

Analysis of public relations in an international non-profit organisation: example organisation Board of European Students of Technology
Dominik Ivančan, 2017, diplomsko delo

Opis: This thesis aims to analyse the state of public relations inside an international student organisation, namely the “Board of European Students of Technology”, while also providing a communications strategy based on the performed analysis. In it, we research the theory behind public relations, strategic communication, branding and marketing, which we then use to perform said analysis and create a communication strategy proposal. We explore terms such as strategic communication, public relations, and the public, along with the internal and external environment of the organisation. In order to create an efficient strategy, we also define terms such as goals, objectives and actions – and use them accordingly.

Opportunities to increase the value of Slovenia's trade in goods with the Pacific Rim countries : the case of Australia
Dejan Romih, Maša Mikola, Klavdij Logožar, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Slovenia is, like many other countries, especially small ones, dependent on exports and imports of goods and services. European countries are Slovenia´s main trade partners, together accounting for almost 90 per cent of the value of Slovenia´s trade in goods. There are various reasons for this, such as the relatively short distance between Slovenia and other European countries. If Slovenia wants to increase the value of its trade with non-European countries, it should adopt a number of measures, such as increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of its trade promotion. In this paper the authors discuss opportunities to increase the value of Slovenia´s trade in goods with the Pacific Rim countries by focusing on the specific case of Australia.
