1. Analysis and improvements of the mechanisms for cross-border interchange and activation of the regulating reserves : doctoral dissertationMarcel Topler, 2022, doktorska disertacija Opis: This Doctoral Thesis deals with the mechanisms for cross-border interchange and activation of the regulating reserves (RRs), i.e., Imbalance Netting Process (INP) and Cross-Border Activation of the RRs (CBRR), between participating Control Areas (CAs), to reduce the costs of balancing energy.
The main objective of INP is to interchange the RRs between participating CAs with opposite signs of interchange power variation. In comparison, the main objective of CBRR is to activate the RRs in participating CAs with the same signs of interchange power variation. Both the INP and CBRR aim to release the RRs and reduce balancing energy as part of the power system's safe operation.
The Thesis's main objective is to analyze the impact of the mechanisms for cross-border interchange and activation of the RRs on mutual oscillations of participating CAs and stability for small disturbances. The Thesis's secondary objective is to analyze the impact of the INP and CBRR on frequency quality, on the provision of Load-Frequency Control (LFC), on balancing energy and unintended exchange of energies between participating CAs.
Frequency quality in Continental Europe (CE) has been declining in recent years, so it is important that the mechanisms for cross-border interchange and activation of the RRs do not further impair its quality.
Both the classic INP and CBRR include a frequency-dependent contribution and, therefore, inherently affect the frequency response of the participating CAs, which is not discussed in the literature. Thus, the impact of the classic INP and CBRR on frequency quality and the provision of LFC is thoroughly evaluated with dynamic simulations of a three-CA test system and eigenvalue analysis of a two-CA system. It is demonstrated that both the classic INP and CBRR reduce the damping of the entire power system.
Therefore, a modified implementation of the classic INP and CBRR is presented, and improved INP and CBRR are proposed, which have no impact on the mutual oscillations of participating CAs and stability for small disturbances.
Furthermore, the dynamic simulations results confirm that the frequency quality can be improved by the classic INP and CBRR, although there are also cases where it can deteriorate. However, the improved INP and CBRR generally improve the frequency quality in all cases. The improved INP and CBRR also enhance the provision of LFC compared to the classic INP and CBRR. Moreover, the improved INP and CBRR reduce the unintended exchange of energies, thus increasing the economic effects of the INP's and CBRR's activation.
The improved INP increases energy exchange, therefore positive economic benefits can be expected in comparison to the system with the classic INP.
However, the improved CBRR reduces energy exchange, therefore positive economic benefits can be expected in comparison to the system with the classic CBRR, since energy exchange is paid by CA via bidding process. 2. Simulation model for robotic pick-point evaluation for 2-F robotic gripperPrimož Bencak, Darko Hercog, Tone Lerher, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Robotic bin-picking performance has been gaining attention in recent years with the development of increasingly advanced camera and machine vision systems, collaborative and industrial robots, and sophisticated robotic grippers. In the random bin-picking process, the wide variety of objects in terms of shape, weight, and surface require complex solutions for the objects to be reliably picked. The challenging part of robotic bin-picking is to determine object pick-points correctly. This paper presents a simulation model based on ADAMS/MATLAB cosimulation for robotic pick-point evaluation for a 2-F robotic gripper. It consists of a mechanical model constructed in ADAMS/View, MATLAB/Simulink force controller, several support functions, and the graphical user interface developed in MATLAB/App Designer. Its functionality can serve three different applications, such as: (1) determining the optimal pick-points of the object due to object complexity, (2) selecting the most appropriate robotic gripper, and (3) improving the existing configuration of the robotic gripper (finger width, depth, shape, stroke width, etc.). Additionally, based on this analysis, new variants of robotic grippers can be proposed. The simulation model has been verified on a selected object on a sample 2-F parallel robotic gripper, showing promising results, where up to 75% of pick-points were correctly determined in the initial testing phase. 3. K-vertex: a novel model for the cardinality constraints enforcement in graph databases : doctoral dissertationMartina Šestak, 2022, doktorska disertacija Opis: The increasing number of network-shaped domains calls for the use of graph database technology, where there are continuous efforts to develop mechanisms to address domain challenges. Relationships as 'first-class citizens' in graph databases can play an important role in studying the structural and behavioural characteristics of the domain. In this dissertation, we focus on studying the cardinality constraints mechanism, which also exploits the edges of the underlying property graph. The results of our literature review indicate an obvious research gap when it comes to concepts and approaches for specifying and representing complex cardinality constraints for graph databases validated in practice.
To address this gap, we present a novel and comprehensive approach called the k-vertex cardinality constraints model for enforcing higher-order cardinality constraints rules on edges, which capture domain-related business rules of varying complexity. In our formal k-vertex cardinality constraint concept definition, we go beyond simple patterns formed between two nodes and employ more complex structures such as hypernodes, which consist of nodes connected by edges. We formally introduce the concept of k-vertex cardinality constraints and their properties as well as the property graph-based model used for their representation. Our k-vertex model includes the k-vertex cardinality constraint specification by following a pre-defined syntax followed by a visual representation through a property graph-based data model and a set of algorithms for the implementation of basic operations relevant for working with k-vertex cardinality constraints.
In the practical part of the dissertation, we evaluate the applicability of the k-vertex model on use cases by carrying two separate case studies where we present how the model can be implemented on fraud detection and data classification use cases. We build a set of relevant k-vertex cardinality constraints based on real data and explain how each step of our approach is to be done. The results obtained from the case studies prove that the k-vertex model is entirely suitable to represent complex business rules as cardinality constraints and can be used to enforce these cardinality constraints in real-world business scenarios. Next, we analyze the performance efficiency of our model on inserting new edges into graph databases with varying number of edges and outgoing node degree and compare it against the case when there is no cardinality constraints checking. The results of the statistical analysis confirm a stable performance of the k-vertex model on varying datasets when compared against a case with no cardinality constraints checking. The k-vertex model shows no significant performance effect on property graphs with varying complexity and it is able to serve as a cardinality constraints enforcement mechanism without large effects on the database performance. 4. Case studies of independent audits of police financial operations by the Court of Audit of the Republic of SloveniaBojan Tičar, Jona Koren Fric, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: This paper presents an overview of audit-case studies of the Slovenian Court of Audit where the audit subjects were Police financial operations. In relation to other state authorities, the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia is an autonomous and independent state authority that supervises the use of public funds. The Court of Audit supervises all bodies and authorities in Slovenia that are users of public funds, including the Police. Design/Methods/Approach: Research design of this paper is the set of three research methods used in collecting data and analysing findings. First method is descriptive analysis of legal regulations. Second research method is case-study analysis. Third research method is observational study based on direct interview. Synthesis is presented in the conclusions. Findings: The Court of Audit reviews the credibility of the response report of auditee after audit. If the Court of Audit assesses that the remedial actions were not satisfactory and that the user of public funds violated the obligation to ensure operational efficiency, the Court of Audit may issue a call for remedial action and serve such on the competent authority, which can take measures against the auditee. As the Police are a direct user of public funds, the Court of Audit has the power to carry out an audit of the operations of the Police based on the law. The Police as whole have never been the subject of a regularity or performance audit by the Court of Audit. Research Limitations / Implications: We have limited analysed in details only those cases where police units were subjects of audit performed by Slovenian Court of Audit. Originality/Value: The Police have been the subject of three audits in time from beginning of Court of Audit operations and today. These cases are presented in the quality analysis. Based on this quality analysis, authors have also addressed some questions directly to the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, i.e., in the form of a directed interview. The questions concerned external audits of Police operations by the Court of Audit and an assessment of the cooperation of the Court of Audit with the Police. Our research results are presented in the end of this article. In conclusion, the standpoints of the Court of Audit in fact support our previous findings presented in this paper. 5. Notaries' escrow services in selling real estate in the Republic of SloveniaBojan Podgoršek, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Notary's escrow is a legal relationship between the notary and the parties to the underlying legal transaction, which is generally a sales agreement. Notary's escrow is regulated with mandatory statutory rules commissioning public notaries and the rules of the mandate agreement. Mutual obligations of the parties to the underlying legal transaction in and of themselves do not influence the notary's obligations under a notary's escrow agreement unless they are included in the notary's escrow agreement as a constituent part thereof. Slovenian legislation stipulates the general conditions of notaries' operations. However, it does not stipulate specific conditions that must be fulfilled in order to place documents, funds and securities into escrow with a notary, nor does it stipulate the mandatory component elements of the escrow order. Therefore, The Slovenian regulation of notary's escrow should be supplemented. 7.
Predstavili smo načine izražanja in medije, v katerih so predstavljena njihova umetniška dela. V magistrskem delu se osredotočamo na gibanje človeškega telesa, zato smo v prvem delu več poudarka dali performansu (performance art), plesu, glasbi in grafični tehniki monotipiji, s katero smo to gibanje lahko prikazali. Umetnike in pojme smo predstavili teoretično in zgodovinsko.

8. The impact of nurses` emotional intelligence on effective nursing leadership: a narrative literature reviewPatricija Lunežnik, 2019, diplomsko delo Opis: Introduction: The interest of this diploma work was to find out, how emotional intelligence of nurses influences effective nursing leadership in order to improve patient care and working conditions for nurses.
Methodology: A descriptive working method with a systematic approach of searching the literature was used. International databases CINAHL, MEDLINE, Web of Science, ASSIA and PsycINFO were searched, covering the period from January 2009 to April 2019. Prisma was used for reporting evidence in a narrative review. Articles were screened by title, abstract and full text.
Results: 406 records were identified through the database search, 18 records were identified manually. After removing the duplicates, 350 records were identified and screened by title. 89 records were screened by abstract and 36 records by full text. Suitable articles (n = 15) were analysed according to the aim, methodology, sample and results. They were also evaluated regarding hierarchy of evidence and the narrative review was made.
Discussion: We discovered that there is an important link between effective leadership and emotional intelligence. Good emotional intelligence reduces stress, promotes effective communication and improves performance. Developing high emotional intelligence may be the most important part of effective leadership, which is essential in nursing and critical for optimizing costs, access and quality of health care. 9. Social CRM adoption and its influence on customer relationship performance -SMEs perspectiveMarjeta Marolt, 2018, doktorsko delo/naloga Opis: Social media (SM) is challenging the traditional relationship between enterprises and customers. The flow of information has become multidirectional, interconnected and difficult to predict. In order to create superior customer experiences, enterprises need to systematically use SM together with other customer relationship management (CRM) technologies. Customer loyalty and satisfaction can only be achieved through effective use of social media. Despite a rich body of literature on CRM innovation adoption, there is lack of research on social CRM adoption and its use, especially with regard to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Specifically, studies focus either on the of social CRM adoption factors or on the impact of social CRM use on customer relationship performance. Therefore, there is a need for comprehensive representation of the entire chain of social CRM adoption constituted by the adoption factors, the extent of social CRM adoption and its influence on customer relationship performance.
The aim of this research is to provide a conceptual clarity of the extent of social CRM adoption and develop a research model for exploring the effect of different factors on the extent of social CRM adoption and the impact of the extent of social CRM adoption on customer relationship performance in the context of B2C SMEs. In order to achieve a more comprehensive overview of the phenomenon under investigation, this study employed an exploratory, sequential mixed method approach. Based on the literature review, semi-structured interviews were conducted with six purposefully selected B2C SMEs. The findings from the qualitative phase of the study were used to develop a research model that guided the quantitative phase of the study. The empirical data were collected using self-administrated questionnaires. The data analysis was based on 119 B2C SMEs in Slovenia.
The findings confirmed that social CRM is a complex phenomenon even for SMEs and suggest two-dimensional conceptualization of the extent of social CRM use: customer-facing processes and relational information processes. Regarding the factors of the extent of social CRM use our findings revealed that they are diverse, ranging from technological, organizational, to environmental. Furthermore, empirical evidence from this research also suggests that extensive use of social CRM positively affects customer relationship performance.
All in all, through the theoretical discussion and empirical assessment, the thesis provides more detailed insights into the B2C SMEs social CRM adoption situation and provides a basis for further research. 10. Influence of Sustainable Quality Management on Organizational PerformanceMatjaž Maletič, 2013, doktorska disertacija Opis: The purpose of this research is to present and test a conceptual framework to aid in understanding and explaining the relationship between sustainability practices and organisational performance. The relevant theoretical insights are presented first, followed by a discussion of the relationship between quality management and sustainability. An extensive literature review is conducted on key intersections of quality management and sustainability. The research further investigates the dimensions of sustainability practices through the review. It develops a reliable and valid instrument for the sustainability practice constructs, which could be beneficial for both practitioners and academicians. Based on the notion of exploitation and exploration concepts, the research delineates sustainability practices and proposes causal relationships between sustainability practices and organisational performance.
Furthermore, the conceptual framework is further discussed in terms of different outcomes related to sustainability performance, quality performance and business performance. One of the primary propositions of this framework is that the alternative relationships between sustainability practices (exploitation and exploration) and organisational performance depend on different factors, including environmental uncertainty, competitiveness, long-term orientation and institutional approaches. Therefore, the research is an attempt to cover the relatively less empirically explored area of the dynamics of corporate sustainability and organisational performance.
The empirical data for this study was drawn from a large-scale international survey based on the following countries: Slovenia, Spain, Serbia, Poland, and Germany. A total of 247 organisations participated in the survey.
The outcome of regression analyses provides the evidence that sustainability practices positively and significantly influence organisational performance. Regarding the antecedents of sustainability practices, our findings suggest that the main enablers for the successful adoption of sustainable practices are the support of top management, the integration of sustainability into vision and strategy, and the establishment of a sustainability centred culture.
Furthermore, empirical evidence from this research also confirmed the existence of ambidextrous orientation, suggesting that organisations that are able to simultaneously pursue exploratory and exploitative sustainability practices can also expect performance benefits. However, the results indicate that when organisations maintain relatively high levels of exploratory and exploitative practices, significant relationship between sustainability practices and organisational performance seems to disappear.
The results of the MANOVA analysis indicate that there are significant mean differences in organisational performance measures for low and high levels of sustainability practices. Therefore, by focusing on exploration and exploitation practices, organisations can expect to achieve higher performance outputs and outcomes. In addition to the direct influence of sustainability practices on the organisational performance, results also revealed that the innovation performance serves as a mediator in the relationship between sustainability practices and financial and market performance. This suggests that greater engagement in sustainability exploration and sustainability exploitation leads to greater innovation performance, which in turn leads to greater financial and market performance.
The results also support the contingency and institutional view with regard to the relationship between sustainability practices and performance rather than relying upon a ‘universal’ view of sustainability practices. For example, the results show that in moderate environmental contexts (moderate competitiveness and uncertainty) sustainability exploitation practices seem to be a predominant predictor of organisational performance. However, it appears that when the level of competitiveness increases, sustainabi Ključne besede: corporate sustainability, sustainability exploitation, sustainability exploration, quality management, organisational performance Objavljeno v DKUM: 12.06.2018; Ogledov: 1673; Prenosov: 154
