3. Communication with disabled fans at sports events : approaches, challenges, and opportunitiesMartin Koželj, Iztok Podbregar, Maja Meško, Irena Nančovska Šerbec, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study investigates how effectively European football clubs communicate
and implement accessibility features for disabled fans, aiming to develop a comprehensive
framework for evaluating these practices. Using a multi-phase research design, the study
analyzes disability support systems through semi-structured interviews with representatives from eleven European football clubs and a systematic analysis of club documentation.
The methodology combined traditional qualitative analysis with large language model
(LLM)-assisted content analysis, enabling robust identification of thematic patterns and
performance indicators. Our findings reveal significant disparities in disability support
practices, with larger clubs demonstrating structured approaches through dedicated Disability Access Officers (DAOs) and comprehensive communication strategies. Analysis
identified three distinct performance tiers: Elite Performers, primarily well-resourced clubs
with advanced systems; Solid Performers, mid-tier clubs with established frameworks; and
Developing Systems, smaller organizations with emerging support structures. We present
a validated Fan Communication Model incorporating key weighted criteria, including
infrastructure, dedicated personnel, engagement, specific adaptations, ticketing, challenge
management, and feedback systems. This model provides a standardized framework
for evaluating disability support communication in football organizations. The research
demonstrates the importance of integrating technological solutions with human-centered
approaches while maintaining universal design principles. Our findings contribute to the
sports accessibility literature and provide evidence-based recommendations for football
organizations seeking to enhance their communication with disabled fans.

4. Sustainable approach to occupational health and safety careSimona Šarotar Žižek, Matjaž Mulej, Ana Marija Gričnik, 2024, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) careis not requisitely holistic if it is not sustainable. Hence SOSHis suggested as a novel approach to the management of individuals, with a particular emphasis on the long-term aspects of occupational safety and health, as well as the principles of regeneration and renewal. SOSH improves a company's ability to recruit and keep high-quality employees: companies create attractive and unique employer brands through the incorporation of SOSH practises into their employee value proposition, mission, and vision. SOSH emphasizes the humane treatment of individuals, emphasising their health, safety, and overall well-being. SOSH facilitates the development of a company in a sustainable and sustained manner. Furthermore, it also encompasses other significant aspects, such as the safety, health, and well-being of employees, employability, justice, employee development, and employee participation, among others. Sustainability, social responsibility, dialectical systems theory, and its law of requisite holism all contribute to the creation of SOSH, which is a new knowledge-cum-values management approach to OSH. No similar concept is offered in the existing literature. 5. Speeding up the implementation of industry 4.0 with management tools : empirical investigations in manufacturing organizationsRok Črešnar, Vojko Potočan, Zlatko Nedelko, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The main purpose of this study is to examine how the use of management tools supports the readiness of manufacturing organizations for the implementation of Industry 4.0. The originality of the research is reflected in the exploration of the relationship between the use of the selected well-known management tools and their readiness for the implementation of Industry 4.0, which was assessed using a combination of two models—one developed by the National Academy of Science and Engineering (Acatech) and the other by the University of Warwick. The relationship was assessed by applying structural equation modeling techniques to a data set of 323 responses from employees in manufacturing organizations. The results show that the use of six sigma, total quality management, radio frequency identification, a balanced scorecard, rapid prototyping, customer segmentation, mission and vision statements, and digital transformation is positively associated with Industry 4.0 readiness. Inversely, outsourcing and strategic planning are negatively associated with Industry 4.0 readiness, while lean manufacturing, which is often emphasized as the cornerstone of Industry 4.0 implementation, is not associated with Industry 4.0 readiness in our study. These findings can help organizations to understand how to consider and measure readiness for the implementation of Industry 4.0 more comprehensively and present guidelines on how the use of management tools in manufacturing organizations can foster their implementation of Industry 4.0 principles. 6. Understanding future leaders : how are personal values of generations Y and Z tailored to leadership in industry 4.0?Rok Črešnar, Zlatko Nedelko, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study combines two main challenges for organizations today, as it examines the alignment between personal values of future leaders and the values needed in the Industry 4.0 workplace. Based on the movement of the organizational environment toward a more multidisciplinary, open, collaborative and multicultural environment, we presuppose that the Industry 4.0 workplace requires a more benevolent, universally oriented and generally self-transcended leaders. Drawing upon Schwartz’s value theory, we examine the impact of Generations Y and Z’s personal values on their leadership inclination. The results from the survey of 371 young participants from Generations Y and Z reveal that self-enhancement (i.e., power and achievement), openness to change and conservation values most significantly affect leadership inclination. Meanwhile, benevolence, universalism and general self-transcendence values—cornerstones of the Industry 4.0 workplace—show negative effects on leadership inclination in the frame of the Industry 4.0 workplace. This indicates a poor fit between the values of future leaders and the values of the Industry 4.0 workplace. These findings have significant implications for human resource management in future organizations and contribute to the understanding of future leaders. In addition, the findings can help organizations to manage sustainable workings in an Industry 4.0 environment. 7. The role of strategic management in the business success of sports organizations: Research of Celje football club in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasonsNikolay Rzhevskiy, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: This diploma illustrates that the success of FC Celje is not merely the result of on-field talent but a comprehensive strategic management framework that supports and enhances every aspect of the club's operations. By examining the club's strategic management practices of the past two seasons, this study provides valuable insights into how sports organizations can achieve and sustain success through effective management practices, financial management, talent development, and community engagement. This thesis's findings underscore that the success of any organization begins with a well-defined strategy. Strategic management provides the framework for setting long-term goals, aligning resources, and navigating the complexities of the sports industry. However, the study also brings to light the equally important role of operational management.
The insights gained from the experience of FC Celje demonstrate that a holistic approach, combining strategic and operational management, is essential for achieving and sustaining success. By understanding and applying these principles, sports organizations can build a solid foundation for long-term growth, improve their competitive edge, and enhance their overall performance. This thesis offers a practical guide for other clubs seeking to replicate the success of FC Celje, emphasizing the importance of strategic foresight coupled with meticulous operational execution. 8. Technology and corporate social responsibilityVojko Potočan, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study examined the importance of technologies in advancing modern organizations’ corporate social responsibility (CSR). Drawing upon environmentalist and technological theories, we analyzed the shift from the traditional development of technology to the development of sustainable technologies for the further sustainable advancement of organizations. Technology has decisively influenced the development of humankind, but its research has traditionally excluded sustainable development issues. Newer technological visions have addressed the incorporation of technologies in all industries more comprehensively to solve social issues related to environmental protection and sustainable economic development. Such an orientation is followed by several conceptual solutions, such as the sustainable use of traditional technologies, development of sustainable technologies, and interdisciplinary treatment of sustainable technology to extend the CSR model. The results of our study have theoretical implications, highlighting the effects of technological development and new technologies on the course of further societal sustainable development. Practical implications include extending CSR’s Triple Bottom model with a technological dimension to improve organizations’ further sustainable operating and behavior. 9. Sustainability of organizations : the contribution of personal values to democratic leadership behavior focused on the sustainability of organizationsZlatko Nedelko, Vojko Potočan, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The main purpose of this study was to examine the influence of leaders’ personal values on their democratic behavior from a sustainability perspective. We specified and tested the research model, drawing upon modified versions of the theory of basic values and the autocratic–democratic leadership continuum. A total of 208 Slovenian and 196 Austrian leaders’ responses were used in hierarchical regression and structural equation modeling analysis. The results reveal a significant and positive influence of collectivistic values in both samples on democratic leadership behavior. A significant and negative effect of individualistic values on democratic leadership behavior is present in Austria, while in Slovenia, the effect is positive but not significant. Based on acknowledged associations between leader’s values, leaders’ democratic leadership behavior, and sustainable development, we argue that democratic leadership behavior contributes to the sustainable working and behavior of organizations. These results have theoretical implications, indicating how personal values affect leaders’ democratic behavior and contribute to the sustainable working and behavior of organizations. The practical implications relate to the strengthening of leaders’ democratic behavior in Slovenian and Austrian organizations. In addition, these findings will be helpful in increasing the sustainability of organizations via fostering democratic leadership behavior and its underlying personal values. 10. What drives the usage of management tools supporting industry 4.0 in organizations?Zlatko Nedelko, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The main purpose of this study was to examine how personal and organizational drivers influence the utilization of management tools aimed at supporting organizational working in Industry 4.0 settings. We built our research upon the recognized importance of management tools for organizational working under Industry 4.0 settings and explored the key personal and organizational drivers of management tool usage. Calculations were performed based on the responses of 222 employees working in organizations across Europe. The results revealed that, among personal drivers, a higher level of education leads to significantly higher usage of six sigma, rapid prototyping, outsourcing, customer relationship management, knowledge management, core competencies, and strategic planning. More experienced employees use significantly more six sigma, total quality management, supply chain management, knowledge management, and core competences than their less experienced peers. The impact of organizational drivers is substantially weaker, where only industry shows significant influence, indicating that lean production, six sigma, and supply chain management are used more in manufacturing than in service organizations. Gender, one’s position in the organization, and the organization size do not play a substantial role in management tool usage. Managers should recognize the role of personal and organizational drivers of management tool usage in order to more quickly implement Industry 4.0 principles in organizations.
